Bravo, Mr. President! You're right on target again! President Bush is a man of tremendous courage. I support his proposal 100%

Pay your debt to society?

Are these illegals going to get the right to vote?

We do not allow convicted felons to get a right to vote.

What planet is he from?

Ya know, that slightly annoying glare in the window is ultimately meaningless, yet in some ways symbolic. Another detail overlooked by an admin with good intentions but perceived to be less than professional and lacking in competence. Sheesh, do they need Tony Snow to cover every single aspect of PR?

Like it or not, the President is not currently perceived as a great leader by the majority of Americans. Unfortunately this speech did nothing to break that perception. Obviously substance is more important than style, but appearing competent and comfortable in the office of the Presidency does matter when you are polling under 40%. The danger is this will lead more Americans to just blow off his speech.

I only caught part of his schpiel. It sounded like an attempt to placate conservatives, while pushing a new amnesty called a "guest worker" program. Illegal means illegal. Will the millions of taxpayers who are being harassed and hunted by the IRS for their alleged failure to pay income taxes be allowed in a "guest taxpayer" program?

Larry Elder(black conservative talk show host) has opined that: "it's too little, to late...(and) we need more like 60,000 new agents on the border".

He also said(I paraphrase)that Bush is in fact, offering --by definition -- amnesty
