At least OUR side is guaranteed a place in the bill. If a bill is passed, that bill will provide border security.
But you won't get that without a comprehensive plan. I disagree that we NEED a comprehensive plan up front, but I DO agree it's the only way to get a bill this year.

I'm willing to bet that a majority of americans will be much happier with a bill that has border security AND the other stuff, than would be happy with no bill at all.
If Clinton had done this, we'd be fighting to get border security ADDED to the bill. It's progress.
How do you know that? The bill might call for some extra money to be spent and some high tech cameras but what will that accomplish?
Money and some high tech toys is not the answer when it comes to securing the border. If it were, then the White House wouldn't have a fence.
