I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.
Mod Note:
This could turn into a whack-a-troll thread. All immigration trolls that would like to participate should post here. It'll be interesting to see if we mods can whack the trolls faster than they can sign up new accounts.
Jim
That's nothing - they'll love it when the FReepers begin to attack each other along with Pres Bush. Sad. And sad that we delight our enemy.
Any chance we can get this thread translated into Spanish?
...for those of you in Rio Linda, that's a joke.
I am not as intrested in what he says. I'm want to see WHAT HE DOES. I want to see NG arresting aliens, I want to see a wall. I want to see deportations.
Spare me the promises. Let me see action.
SECURE THE BORDERS!
It's good to know we can still count on you to be on the wrong side of every issue, Dane.
He already gave it to his friends in the media to start the air cover war.
Evidently we get lectured on our tone, and we are told to get over it and help the Illegals (Never mentions that word) assimilate (Pay For).
Another kick in the teeth for the law abiding tax payer.
What a PR disaster this clueless bunch is about to perpetrate.
To be fair, the President reassured Fox that we weren't going to militarize (start a war at) the border.
Sounds pretty reasonable to me.
They are DOOMERS.
Yep bay buchanan and tancredo do have a schitck. They have to keep the hysterical hyperbole up to keep those funds flowing into their PAC.
I completely agree. We should accept nothing less than total security. Total closure
ping for easy use :)
If Bush does anything else than secure the borders then he will most assuredly lose the conversative base and there will plenty of GOP from the House looking for work elsewhere.
This account has been banned or suspended.
Is he going to explain "why" we need increased immigration, beyond the Amnesty?
We need more than 6,000 to advise and train?
Yeah I'm afraid this may not go over very well.
David Frum already said this is going to be a disaster.
Limbaugh made a good point today: If virtual fences are such a hot idea, why not try them around the WH and the Capitol?
Almost everything Bush will say is posted on the Drudge Report. A pathetic effort on the border, a guest worker program and amnesty. The House needs to kill this bill!!!
SECURE THE BORDERS
ENFORCE EMPLOYERS SANCTIONS
NO GUEST WORKER PROGRAM
NO AMNESTY!!!
If Bush really wants to show real leadership on the immigration issue, he should support HR4437, the House enforcement only bill that was passed by a floor vote last December 2005. (239-182)
