I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.
Mod Note:
This could turn into a whack-a-troll thread. All immigration trolls that would like to participate should post here. It'll be interesting to see if we mods can whack the trolls faster than they can sign up new accounts.
Jim
I'm with you Texas!
Well stated. Thanks.
Good rebuttal.
Hope you are right, for the sake of my grandchildren.
The President is sending 6000 NG troops down there, temporarily. There are 10664 total border patrol officers on both the northern and southern borders.
There are 40,000 officers in just the NYPD. What's wrong with this picture?
"I think many in his circle has been taken by surprise at the strong feelings against ii."
Good, then they'll learn. You are right that Rush sometimes fence-sits on certain issues, but I think he's caught on about this one; at least I hope he has. Rush's problem is that he has gotten too cozy with the Bush Admin, at least certain members of it, and they use him as a conduit to get certain issues out. This is fine, as long as Rush tries to maintain some objectivity and remembers that he is a conservative first, and a Pub second. It will be interesting to see what he says tomorrow. I'll be sure to listen.
Hope he doesn't disappoint me and his other conservative listeners by spouting the Party line or trying to cover for Bush and his speech. He'll probably try to split the difference, saying some parts are good, others bad. Which again, would be somewhat of a cop out actually. The good news is that Rush owned up to being blasted while in CA. An eye opener for him, and that's good. Will bring him back to reality. Always does when you get back out amongst the grassroots.
And when NONE of them do ANY of those things, what then? Is this administration going to acutally enforce it's own illegal alien policies?
Dobbs and Tancredo had initial good comments about the speech. Dobbs later changed his tune a bit. Tancredo was all over the place tonite, but all his comments toward the president were respectful, even though he didn't agree with all the speech. As a matter of fact, I didn't really see anybody in my channel surfing trash the prez, though I'm sure some did.
Oh, that was so naughty!
he didn't propose closing the border only securing it and reducing illegal immigration
oh here is what Nixon did in 1969

To suggest the same fate that awaits Europe will afflict us is ludicrous on its face.
I am reminded tonight what somebody else just said about it being impossible to deport 12 million.
He/she typed..."Mexico did!"
"While she is a complete and total bitch, she is also one of the truest and proudest Americans I know."
LOL, that's very fair of you to say. I guess.
Thank you for your service.
Wrong. Here the fast food joints advertise for bilingual help.
Now THAT we agree on 100%..
That can't be right. Lou Dobbs does not want amnesty for illegals. What am I missing in your post.
