Then obviously this is the sore spot and the tumor that nobody wants to touch.

This is a wild idea, but perhaps instead of an amnesty program for illegals, why not an amnesty program for employers? Give them a subsidy for a certain amount of months which equals the hourly wage difference between an illegal worker vs. a legal worker. Would legal workers and Americans do those jobs? I guess that's the question. My contention is Yes.

But my new theory is that Dubya has a very young wife with his beautiful mezcla kids living across the border and Vicente knows this, so this is why he is so out of it on this issue.

How about this... cut off Section 9, Medicare, WIC, food stamps, welfare, child daycare, and the zillions of entitlement programs and let the free market take its course. Oh, yeah, and bust the flea markets that they hold.

If the protests I walked in (by accident) were any indication, these are NOT frugal people contrary to stereotyping. Nearly everyone I saw had fat rolls and designer clothing, better clothing than what I wear/can afford & I'm not poor by a loooong shot. Without these freebies... I bet you'd see them struggling to live on their wages pretty danged quickly.
