Local troops may be dispatched to border
California National Guard troops could be called on to help stem the flow of illegal immigrants across the U.S-Mexican border ---- in the San Diego region and elsewhere ---- under proposals being reviewed by Pentagon planners.

U.S. Reps. Duncan Hunter and Darrell Issa said Friday that they support a military presence on the border, but would oppose the use of active-duty personnel.
"We can't deprive the war-fighting theater of troops, but we could use a number of National Guardsmen that aren't scheduled to rotate into Iraq or Afghanistan," said Hunter, R-El Cajon and chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.

A fifteen year old daughter of a close friend of mine was raped and beaten by an illegal. She was supposed to enter a special school for "intellectually gifted" students this fall, but now she is afraid to go. The perp made bail and is now deep into Mexico.......long gone. All that is left is a shaken teen. I gave up on Bush when he called the Minutemen "vigilantes". I don't care what he says tomorrow;
