Well its a small, small world. I have not had the opportunity to post (or FReep) recently...as my family life and job have been more hectic than usual (as if that is even possible but it has been the case recently)... yesterday was a proud, eventful day in my family as our oldest son graduated from...SETON HILL UNIVERSITY.

We were at the commencement and sat thru Congressman Murtha's diatribe. Murtha's remarks did elicit heckles (back and forth) and as someone who sat there, in the Katherine Mabis McKenna Gym, one half of the graduating class did NOT stand and applaud (maybe 20 percent of the crowd at most). The initial heckler (quote of what heckler #1 said...'its about a graduating class...not your agenda') received a smattering of applause (like those who heard him were thinking the same thoughts). I don't condone heckling and catcalls, but I also greatly resent the circus my son's ceremony turned into (but that is for my private letter writing tomorrow) due to Mr. Murtha vitriol towards the Bush administration. As a constituent in his 14th Congressional District, I feel that that Pennsylvania would have been better served if Mr. Murtha would have tauted how the 'best and brightest' need to make thier future here, in Southwestern PA. Mr. Murtha should have further explained that the jobs and ecomonic growth that he has worked diligently to attain for the Pittsburgh region will keep them here...but wait...his agenda only involves Iraq...and face time with the national media.

I will post any replies I receive from my letters to the Congressman and the University on the circus that was son's graduation day.

FRegards, PaMom

You had to sit through that? I am so sorry. If it was my graduation that was ruined by this appeaser, I would have thrown my cap and gown down and walked out in protest.

That said, I never went to my college graduation. It was scheduled to close to my commissioning ceremony as a 2LT in the Army and, honestly, I could have cared less about listening to the leftist trash spewed forth by the guest speaker and the college administration. I still would love to write the college back and demand a refund for all the leftist general education courses they made me take so I could get an Industrial Engineering degree.

I am so very sorry that you, your son and all those in attendence had to sit through something like this on a day that should have been all about the graduates.

Vote Diana Irey!
