It's a non sequitur. It's playing right into their hands.
We don't have to agree on the issues (indeed, can we ever?) to unite against the clintons.
Don't we at least have to agree on the principles driving the issues? And much more than that -- since "agreement on principle" can be nothing more than convenient rhetoric -- don't we have to agree on the PRACTICES that arise from those principles? Don't conservatives have a right to expect that the people they support ACT on the principles they mouth?
I want a hot bath. If all I'm offered is tepid sewage or ice-cold lake water, I'll stay dirty.
