We don't have to agree on the issues (indeed, can we ever?) to unite against the clintons.

Don't we at least have to agree on the principles driving the issues? And much more than that -- since "agreement on principle" can be nothing more than convenient rhetoric -- don't we have to agree on the PRACTICES that arise from those principles? Don't conservatives have a right to expect that the people they support ACT on the principles they mouth?

I want a hot bath. If all I'm offered is tepid sewage or ice-cold lake water, I'll stay dirty.

I'm sorry. I just can't support the jellyfish Republican anymore. This time around, it's all or nothing.

Re-read Jim Robinson's statement, above.
(You'll need more than a bath if your moral purity results in clinton: the sequel.)

BTW, most, if not all, professional pols--even conservative ones--are creatures of self-service (and mediocrity) above all else.

We won't get what you are looking for unless and until we start electing citizen politicians. That's what the Founders had in mind when they set up this government.

it's all or nothing

Enjoy nothing then . Your idealogical purity test seems to have blinded you to Reagen's political maxims.
