You know, Julian Phillips has been especially annoying this morning, although yesterday's gem will be hard to beat. He actually said that most of the military were in uniform because they couldn't get jobs or afford to go to school. I wish someone would slap him.

It is sad that is still the perception of some about today's modern armed services unfortunately you hear the same thing in Britain.

One day Charlie Rangel went on a rant saying the only reason poor people in the South and black people joined the military was because they couldn't get jobs.

I called his office and had a long converstion with his staffer. Asked him if Rangel was suggesting that black people and people from poor rural areas were NOT patriots, but just joined for the money. Oh he backed away from that concept very quickly.
