Thanks. To me, this has always been the elephant in the room. We have a poor, third world country of 107 million people with a high rate of population growth located on our southern border. Many want to escape the hopelessness of their situation by coming to the richest country on the planet. They can do so by stepping across a largely undefended border. The idea that we can dissuade them from coming through sanctions on employers and complicated registration systems is irrational. It demonstrates a lack of basic understanding of the nature of the problem.

If Haiti had a land border with the US, does anyone think that we could dry up their desire to come to the US illegally? It is politically incorrect to point out the wealth disparity between Mexico and the US and the corrupt system that operates within that country and how that plays into the illegal immigrant problem. Until we secure our borders, they will come no matter what else we do to discourage them.

Excellent catch her Tom --this post 174 is required reading for all and some big questions need to be asked, what kind of proposal for troops on the border is this in actuality? The building of fences and walls seems strong 800 miles or more but what about the rest, your read, you decide.

That's not the first time he's done so... from the very beginning he came out blasting on NSA Surveilance; he has become so anti-administration that I rarely listen when he comes on FOX these days, and certainly wouldn't listen to his new radio show.

I hope not. We just had an anti-McCain letter to the editor in the paper today. First one I remember seeing.

Ref Julian's comments about the Military, his Niece was/is in the Military and in Iraq I believe at one time. what does this say about his feelings towards his Niece? Does he think she is not qualified for a Job in Civilian life and she cannot get a Pell Grant or any scholarship for her higher Education? Sometimes his ignorance and buffoonery are too much to take.

Rangel denigrates everyone when he attributes their service to nothing more than.....can't get a job.......

It's hateful but evidently serves his constituents.

I saw it, switched the channel as well. I haven't seen one reasoned debate between anyone from the radical organizations and a host or guest.

Here in AZ we are too aware of the stories like the one mother told.

It's totally disengenuous to complain about the President's spending. Without spending he doesn't get the votes he needs for our troops. For education...he didn't get vouchers but he got a LOT. The teachers' unions are still bitching about testing and accountability.

Evidently Reagan allowing congress to spend $1.50 for every dollar coming into the treasury was GOOD. President Bush spending for our troops, for national security, for ecuation.....all BAD!

Frankly, I am sick of the bashers, SICK AND TIRED OF THEIR LACK OF INTELLECTUAL HONESTY.

Gibson(has good days and bad) is like any other overnight broadcaster, it takes years to get to Rush's level and few do. You cannot become an overnight broadcaster, it took me 10 years before I was comfortable to do live, today they are expected to come out of the box and be Rushesque, it just doesn't happen.

Hannity's radio show is unlistenable (is that a word) so I turn to O'Reilly. Can't listen to him for more than five minutes but when Gibson is filling in.....it's wonderful!

I guess if he has his own show now he wont' be filling in for O'R......darn!

It's not the internet, blogs or talk radio that needs to turn down the rhetoric. The problem is with radical leftists and Democrats who are damaging our country with leaks, lies and misleading charges.

And fat pretend journalists who used to work for a democrat senator and eased in to a main stream media job like a hog into a mud bath.

If you are referring to Matthews, the other day he said most Americans were like Cindy Sheehan!

What is your solution? Or do you have one? Do you propose we adopt all 107 million of their poor and leave their countries to their rich?

All other discussions aside, we have not only an energy crisis in this country, we have a water crisis (the current flood on the East Coast notwithstanding).

Even the largest aquifer in the nation -- the one running under Illinois -- is depleating. We are touting ethenol as a solution to our energy needs -- ethenol from corn -- corn that is grown in the mid-west; the same midwest that had a drought last summer and the corn was barely able to grow as a result.

Judge Napolitano comes from NJ. Nuff said. Sadly, sadly.

Isn't that the same constituency that re-elects that Charles (something): the councilman who demanded George Washington, etc., be removed from the history books because they kept slaves?
