Thanks
And it doesn't seem to do any good to climb all over the Republicans' asses over this illegal immigration thing.
We donate the money and the votes and they posture to a gaggle of uneducated illegal criminals that steal, rape, cause auto accidents, use up the welfare money and are, in general, a damned nuisance that could be eliminated.
They roll their eyes when you suggest these illegal criminals be rounded up and deported because they fear the logistics of such an action.
The police hunt down murders one at a time. If that's what it takes then damnit do it!!!
I haven't been to MN for a few years, but I do remember all the pretty ladies and that peculiar psuedo-Scandanavian accent captured so well in "Fargo".
If you want to see where American is headed, come down to the most dynamic states - anything south of the (virtual) Mason-Dixon line. Then try and reconcile what you see with where you live - you're next.
They will eventually catch it, but by then, the "employee" is usually long gone, especially in construction.
"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great- great grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional and other liberal bed-wetters.
We hold these truths to be self evident; that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."
ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.
ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone ...not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.
ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful. Do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.
ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes, who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes. (This one is my pet peeve...get an education and go to work..don't expect everyone else to take care of you!)
ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.
ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.
ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.
ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)
ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.
ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (lastly...)
ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief of one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all, with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!!!
I'm sorry. Did you have a point?
This is a bogus argument. Most will leave voluntarily when employers are forced to obey the law. Another large group will leave when welfare is denied to illegals. A relatively small number will remain with no work and no welfare, and these can be tracked down over time. It's not as if 12 million people need to be rounded up over night.
>>While the arrests are to be commended, one can't help but wonder if we wouldn't get more bang for our buck if ICE and other investigative agencies were to initiate investigations of larger businesses -- those that hire thousands of illegal aliens.
...The cynic in me sees an attempt by the Bush Administration to dupe the American people with a few well-publicized arrests of business owners who illegally employ undocumented immigrants just before Bush's scheduled televised address to the nation this Monday evening.<<
Until we see employers punished, you know it's just more intelligence-insulting "boob bait for the bubbas."
"Because it's against the law to reveal that information. IRS and SS are forbidden to give that information to ANYBODY"
It may be true that the IRS and SSA are forbidden to give that information to anybody ELSE, but they do share information between their two agencies, and crosscheck tax returns with valid SS numbers.
Amen.
I'm sorry to say that I don't trust him to "strategically redeploy" them back home immediately after the November elections.
I think Krauthammer is right that this stinks of a quid pro quo: I'll give you your border back, if you give the Senate it's amnesty for 12 million.
By gosh, it's not even a fair trade.
How long till you see ICE head Julie (I-can-get-to-a-camera-faster-than-Chuck-Schumer-and-Lindsey-Graham)Myers on the tube bragging about this while the "captured" illegals, like at IFCO, are back in the streets awaiting (right) their court date?
"I'm sorry. Did you have a point?"
Yea, it's a good one too. It amazes me that the whiners around here don't welcome this news.
Yo, Iwo Jima! You the man!
Correct. No job, no money, no free hospital emergency room, no public schools, no welfare checks, no food stamps.
By gosh, it's almost like being home back in Mexico, but the tacos aren't as good.
I believe the VAST majority of FR is against our current Illegal problem. There is a very active and vocal few that stays primed and ready to fight for Illegals, including management.
>>I wonder why Jim Rob puts up with you. You are destroying his creation which he worked so hard to build and on which this nation depends for its very survival.<<
There is a pack of these people on Free Republic. I do not understand why they are here, year after year.
Free Republic is supposed to be a place where intelligent debate can take place. Jim has stated that till he is blue in the face, yet the mud-slinging crowd never listens.
On the bright side, as you mentioned, they are not doing themselves any favors, so maybe it's best they keep it up, out in the open.
They drive people away from their side by the droves.
What news? That the Bush administration is putting on a "dog and pony" show? That's not news.
