It gets worse than that. Turns out "people" are selling children/babies SS numbers to illegals; when SS finds cases of this they claim they are prohibited from notifying the parents of the disenfranchised child.
Perhaps Congress should really be concentrating on fixing things in the existing law to allow it to work better in 2006 vs 1986.
Aha! You see my point! This isn't something that has a simple solution. Controlling the border requires revamping existing law, getting the cooperation of local governments (sanctuary cities, for example) and getting legislation which plugs the loopholes.
I am all for getting the situation under control, but our best hope is getting the President and Congress to first secure the border. Then we can worry about what to do about the people who are already here. If we argue about all the aspects of the issue and do nothing, then we will simply end up with a worse problem.
