Aha! You see my point! This isn't something that has a simple solution. Controlling the border requires revamping existing law, getting the cooperation of local governments (sanctuary cities, for example) and getting legislation which plugs the loopholes.

I am all for getting the situation under control, but our best hope is getting the President and Congress to first secure the border. Then we can worry about what to do about the people who are already here. If we argue about all the aspects of the issue and do nothing, then we will simply end up with a worse problem.

That I wholeheartedly concur with... Did you see this morning that a judge in California ruled it was illegal to force HS Seniors pass a proficiency exam before they could graduate -- his reasoning: Too many can't speak or understand English therefore they can't understand the exam and should not be expected to show they are proficient enough to graduate.

Granted, not the greatest example since it's a liberal, California Judge, but you'd think even a liberal would expect someone graduating to be able to speak and understand English.
