We could also do without 50,000 diversity visas a year from the poorest countries in the world. Now, in addition to all of the Cubans, Haitians, Vietnamese, Guatemalans, and Venezuelan refugees we deal with our neighborhood is swamped with Bengalis on diversity visas. They are nice, speak English etc, but enuf is enuf.

Risk a mutiny? LOL... W. has completely redefined the term "lame duck". I mean he's taken it to a completely new level.
Well the man has been behaving as if he's declared war on his own base. Usually your base is what sticks with you towards the end of your term, but he regularly kicks it in the shins.

Dear Mr. President:re: "jobs Americans won't do:"
I was born here (Boston, but don't hold that against me). I've cleaned thousands of cages and disposed of dead, electrocuted animals at The Animal Rescue League. I've crawled through hanging ceilings running electrical wires. I've dragged 100 pound roof dishes up the sides of seven story buildings on a rope in the summer when the temp on a tar roof is 120 degrees. I've shoveled stone out of the back of a construction truck. I've shoveled wet snow from so many walkways and driveways I've lost count. I am also educated, with an MBA and an Airline Transport Pilot's license and many years of business and aviation experience.
Please provide details on what "jobs Americans won't do."
Respectfully,
To: ClancyJ
"...must you get down to the actual words too?"
Yes, in order to be accurate, I must.
Amnesty won't sell anymore... so this weeks euphemism is "earned citizenship".
Sorry if this offends you.

I think it will be a major -- and satisfying speech to all conservatives.

If Jorge don't put Apache helicopters and M1A tanks on border and ship every single one of those illegals back to Mexico in 30 days, I won't vote for him or any other Republican ever again. Yeah, and if he says "jobs Americans won't do" that's it. Yeah and if he has to increase spending to send them back and man the border, I am gone. This president spends more than any other and I am a conservotive.

It doesn't matter what the Senate or House pass or what the President signs. The problem has been, is, and will continue to be --- enforcement, or lack thereof. If they would enforce the existing laws, they wouldn't need new ones.Sanity at last.

Precisely, there are very few FOR illegal immigration or open boarders on this board, I don't know many at all.
And yes the sarcastic, (Jorge el Presidente), contemptuous, (Impeachment), and the condescension, (elect Dems), when some disagree with the President, is getting old.
Amazingly most of the same "FR" trolls spent weeks accusing the Vice President of the United States of being drunk and shooting his friend.
I do know why they are acting this way, lol.

He will promise a crack down on employers.
He might fear cackling with that one:
...Out of millions of crooked employers who intentionally and knowingly hired illegal aliens after 1986 only a handful has been fined. There were 3 employer sanctions in 2005.
American Chronicle
I recall when Clinton only had 300 sanctions in a given year and FR was threatening armed insurrection.

Exactly.
CNN just had a report which showed that 4 million illegals have overstayed their VISAs.
ICE and the INS doesn't know where they are and they are making *no* effort to find them.
Bush will refuse to build a wall, he will support amnesty and call it something else, he will talk about beefing up the border patrol, using new technology etc., none of which will stop the massive illegal immigration.
Remember, if Bush wanted to enforce the law, he could have supported the House bill. He wants amnesty and is in bed with McCain and Kennedy on this one.

The time for compassionately debating the invasion of your country has passed. It's time to support republicans like Sheriff Arpaio in Arizona who is doing the job our president won't do.I have the advantage of being able to support the Sheriff AND the President. Sorry so many of you people find those two positions irreconcilable.

< "The peaceful intruders were last priority." >
I don't normally launch ad hominem attacks--but your post is so ludicrous that it nearly drove me to comment on your mindless inability to realize that no invader of our sovereign nation is "peaceful."
Yours is a losing argument in the end because it lacks any meritorious support. Illegal aliens should no more be forgiven for breaking the law than I should if I shoplift a candy bar!
Perhaps you should read our Constitution, then comment further on FR about "peaceful intruders."

Exactly right. We are asking the illegals to disclose their whereabouts, be subject to a background check, pay a fine and back taxes, and get to the back of the line. Once they become "legal," they become less attractive to employers who must pay them more and have less leverage over them. The President and most of our political leaders have already ruled out mass deportation.
There is not enforcement now and there won't be in the future. This is all a sham of legalizing the illegals as was done in 1986. If he is serious about immigration reform, the President must announce a two step process, with securing our borders as a precondition for any futher legislation on immigration reform. He should be supporting the House bill (except for the felony language that the Dems voted to retain as a poison pill) instead of the Senate bill.
