Peggy is a bitter old coot who can't get over the fact that she is no longer employed to write presidential speeches. Now she just bitches. She has become predictable and boring. On the bright side (for her), her plunge into irrelevancy makes her a prime candidate to host a news show on MSNBC. If I were an agent, I'd be all over that one.

Hey, be nice. Peggy has been fighting our side for a long, long time. She just got out of the 2004 election campaign for Bush in case you don't remember.

I agree with her every time I see the news. But then I rebound when I remember that the news is THEIR side of the story and our side can only be found on the web and on AM radio. But living in NY must be a nightmare since it is essentially a democracy free zone.

Nope. She's really nailed it this time. Unfortunately, the entire GOP "leadership" and much of the rank and file is so deep in denial about it, it's in the Suez. The Republicans are going to take a beating this November, the likes they haven't seen since 1976, and it's going to be its own damn fault, I'm afraid.

Peggy knows what she's talking about and expresses the opinion of many conservatives, myself included. The Republicans are going to get a major wakeup call in November.

Oh, so the GOP Congress has done a good job of reigning in the size of the federal government and cutting spending.....

I congratulate you on this post for addressing the issues she presented and not even beginning to make any hint of ad hominem attacks.

One can tell by this mature and topic-oriented post that you are a thoughtful and fact oriented person capable of careful analysis and never prone to making baseless, personal attacks.

Can you name one thing that Noonan states in her first paragraph that is not true?

Nope, didn't think so.

Nice personal attack on gracious woman without addressing the substance of her article

You seem to have a lot to say about Peggy Noonan, but not about the substance of her argument.

Yep. The phone doesn't ring, so she knows that nobody at the White House is interested in her contributions.

And she takes that out on the rest of us in her periodic dumps of effluvia in the WSJ.

I don't even bother to click on the link to read the rest of her bilge.

Smash mouth crap won't re-elect a Republican congress this year. They can listen to the base, or they can stiff it and get smashed themselves.
