Thank you for a reasonable response. I am not happy about the border situation, but to hammer Bush to the point of trying to run the GOP out of power over that one issue is counterintuitive. He has had/has perhaps the fullest plate of any president. Beyond that, the consequences of "teaching the GOP a lesson" are grave because we will wind up with rats. If you aren't happy with things now, just imagine all the complainin' then.

Uncontrolled illegal immigration is not just one issue. It impacts so much. If not checked long-term it will utterly change this nation into another version of Mexico. Then where will Mexico's poor go?

I disagree.

The reason is that you do not consider the time domain. I would be willing to accept the "rats" for one election cycle if it brought back real conservatives in the following cycle.

I have done this once before. I sat out the 1992 election because I was so angry with the scumbag Bush senior. He broke his word on taxes, but he really stabbed us in the back when he supported the Brady bill. (I was proven right when he resigned from the NRA. There is no lower scumbag than one who resigns the NRA in support of the jack booted ATF thugs). / end rant

Well, we got Clinton. And we got sick of him pretty quick. And just two years later, 1994, Newt Gingritch swept in with over 50, yes that is right, 50 new republican house seats.

Was it worth sitting out 1992? Well, reasonable people can honestly disagree. I happen to think it was.

So, if we sit this one out or vote 3rd party and lose the house or senate, I am OK with that. We may get real conservatives the next cycle.

Sinkspur, you may put me on your list.

"I am not happy about the border situation"

Open Borders is a real problem for the GOP, but it is not the only problem. As the article points out there are lot's of other reasons for conservative to be unhappy with this administration so many in fact that many conservatives are throwing in the towel. The big government borrow and spend open borders bots that day in and day out say "screw conservatives who needs them anyway" bots should rejoice. They have finally gotten thier wish a GOP without conversatives "whinners" in it. Next they will get thier reward, president Hillary. President Hillary is a certainty if the GOP does not listen to conservatives and address thier issues.

I agree, but I also see no value in accepting betrayal and/or polticial incompetence in silence. I don't think supporting the party with our votes has to be synonomous with remaining silent, bending over, and taking it.

WE THE PEOPLE.. Remember that?
