"Great. Whatever. Can we get out of Korea now?"

It may not happen at this point, but we have already given the South Koreans notice that it could happen. Whatever happens in South Korea (and it does look bad---I think their society has been completely penetrated and subverted by Chinese and North Korean intelligence, myself)---I will feel much better about it now that Japan has finally awakened and is starting to take significant steps toward self defense. A strong Japan, allied with the US, will contain China quite nicely, in my opinion.

We ought to re-assass the situation when it comes to Mr. Roh.

Yep. Nice analogy. That's what I meant to say but it didn't really come out. Thanks.

Now seems like a very good time.

I have to wonder just what sort of concessions Roh has in mind. Time for a quiet exit, I think.

"Now seems like a very good time."

Agreed! They've milked us for all they could get and now let them defend themselves. NK will only have to make a phone call to SK and it's surrender time. Let them eat dogs.

We should back Japan 100%. Give them all the defensive weapons they will need.

I think we have about 50,000 troops stationed there. Think of what good work they could do on our southern border guarding AMERICA for a change.

Bring 'em home and all our equipment too.

You know, I didn't know the number myself so I decided to look it up. Our current OOB appears to be just over 30,000. We've been quietly drawing down for the entire decade. SOURCE

In my opinion Roh typifies a breed of politician who has been so secure behind the U.S. defense umbrella for so long that he takes it for granted and thinks that it will never end. Old Europe is full of them. We don't need bitterness at ingratitude, we don't need smack talk, we just need to leave.
