Better to be treated badly by your enemies than by family. In this case family has become the enemy.
Another perspective.

You're nothing to me now Fredo
Just wondering...did you vote for Ross Perot, Bill Clinton, George Bush or someone else in 92?
So, you felt the need to post a vanity to tell everyone of your decision, instead of simply choosing the response to the poll. Says a lot about your need for attention.
Better to give Repubs the message in 2006 that we're unhappy with their policies then risk getting Hillary in 2008. Maybe if enough of the Repubs are thrown out or scared in the mid-terms, they'll wake up for 2008. I hope.
That is an interesting reaction in posting a counterpoint by the owner of this site.
Vote in the socialists, and you get what you deserve. And, I expect no complaints from these conservatives when the nation goes down the dumper after '06 and '08.
That's the quandry alright. It must be how a lot of african-Americans feel about the dems -- holding their noses and voting all these years, mostly for nothing. As for me, if the right candidate (and I mean right = conservative) isn't on the ballot in 08, I won't vote for a presidential candidate. I'm absolutely prepared to bail on this party at the national level. IF they don't put forth a conservative, then only a loss will force them to change.
I'll be voting conservative. What that means to the GOP is up to them.
What about a 50% conservative versus a 100% liberal?
Well here's a scenario for you. The Dems take the house in 2006 and start impeachment hearings. Things get real nasty and the general public is extremely turned off of politics - their all alike, there's no difference between the parties, etc. When 2008 rolls around we get a bunch of middle of the road moderates who promise to change the tone in Washington and make nice, nice. It doesn't sound like a fertile breeding ground for a "real conservative" to me.
I think I am going to take a deep breath, and hold my nose to avoid the putrid stench of the current Republican party and vote for them. Sometimes I too get so disgusted and angry I feel like you do but I am going to go the pragmatic route and still be loyal the Pubs. The main driver is the RATS just scare me much much worse...
But it sure is a suck ass lineup when you look at both parties!! LOL!!
I saw the Bushbots jumped you never mind them they can't stand to talk issues they just insulting and get real shreaky and shrill like the liberals.....;-)
I look at these things from a spiritual perspective. I figure that if the hard-left Democrats take congress this year, and Hillary gets elected in '08, it will be because God has finally run out of patience with our society, and we are due for a season of judgment. If God uses hardnosed, pinheaded "conservatives" to bring that judgment, so be it. Whether we live and prosper, or dwindle and die as a nation, blessed be the Lord. (I pray for prosperity and life, but maybe America is in need of some hard times.)
I'll be voting the most conservative major party candidate. I'm not going to throw away my vote to a third party candidate, even if I like what they say.
I'm voting for what's best for America, considering the realistic choices we have in the election.
The problem is largely the Senate. The Congress is on the right side of just about everything but spending. I think I saw that Dewine just won a primary? That's a darn shame. It would take a powerful and vocal conservative to direct the fight to get rid of selected Rinos while maintaining our majority.
Unfortunately without another conservative leader, the RNC knows that we only have two choices - part time status quo leftists or full time socialist leftists.
Well said.
Of course, there are quite a few here who shout about the collective number of "protest" or third party votes being less than one percent...............
So, it could be argued that your vote really doesn't carry much weight.
It is far more important to have cast your vote for a candidate you believe will actually represent your position in government, than to vote for a party blindly.
