I've read up to this point in the thread and so haven't yet read to the very end.
Regardless of what I think about the MM and any proposed solutions to the border problems, I'm getting sick and tired of people like you who want to lay the blame for illegal immigration solely at Bush's feet.
Illegal immigration didn't begin with Bush, it's been in existence for decades. I'm also getting pretty tired of you claiming Bush is for open borders when in actuality he's proposed nothing of the sort.
Words have meaning. Explain to me please exactly how a guest worker program would mean an open border policy. Open borders are what I have when I cross the border into Texas or Kansas or Louisiana from Oklahoma.
Please pay special attention to the fact I haven't come out in favor of either side. I lived in Texas for 50 of my 54 years so I've had experience up close and personal with the illegal immigration issue. I do believe something does need to be done about illegal immigration but so far I haven't heard of a plan from either side which is feasible.
Playing dumb on what 'open borders' means does you a disservice. When you make such an asinine statement like that, no response from me will satisfy you. Suffice it to say, I will from here on out, give one reply to you people such as you. Enablers. Have a good day.
