Inland Valley Daily Bulletin Inaccurate
(05/09/2006)Statement Todays report by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols, is inaccurate. Border Patrol does not report activity by civilian, non-law enforcement groups to the Government of Mexico. During a detention of a legal or illegal immigrant that produces an allegation of improper treatment, Border Patrol reports the allegation and allows the appropriate consulate to interview the individual in custody.
This is consistent with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 that provides consular access to foreign nationals being detained by a foreign government. This is the same agreement that protects United States citizens when they travel to foreign countries.
U.S. Customs and Border Protections Border Patrol continues to appreciate the efforts of civilians who contact law enforcement authorities regarding suspicious activity.
yeah well we went to war on 'supposedly faulty' WMD info. Doesn't mean I'm mad at Rumsfeld, Bush et. al. To be honest the people hyping the story might be wrong and they might be catching the vapors, but really, can you blame them? Bush has been an abject failure during his tenure with respect to the borders and is only belatedly addressing concerns because of groups like the Minutemen. Seems that way to me anyway...
I don't believe.
The question is, why are you so desperate for it to be a lie?
I'll wait for more information, mean-time everyone interested in the truth can continue (again) to ignore you.
Here's what I posted earlier:

I have mounted spirited defenses of the administration against the wild and baseless charges of liberals over the NSA surveillance issue. But if this current story is true, then the Bush administration has ordered and carried out spying on American citizens who are not committing any crimes, and supplying an invasion-bent foreign government with intelligence on the activities of those American citizens.
If true, the Bush administration has become an enemy of the American people and of the several States. IF TRUE.
IF TRUE.
Border Security Discussion on Scarborough Country Scarborough Country, hosted by Joe Scarborough, featured a discussion last night on border security, and the lack thereof, with Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reporter Sara Carter, terrorism expert Steve Emerson and Pat Buchanan:
Interview with Carter follows. This is NOT about today's little "snafu," but I'm wondering why, if Carter, is so heavily involved in this issue, she is not answering her phone tonight.
By who? Certainly not people who are familiar with how the press works and look for facts to back up any assertions they read before they go off halfcocked.
Now, if you NEED stories like this to bolster your cause, I can see that happening.
And if you're willing and wanting to believe the worst about the Bush administration and/or Republicans, I can see that happening for you.
EVERYONE knows where they are. The Minutemen plaster their itinerary all over the Internet. They are about as subtle as Ted Kennedy in an Irish Bar.
Can you name us one single president who has tackled the issue of borders?
Or, just to make it easier, even one candidate who ran on the issue of border security in the last 20 years?
There's a difference between bashing the President nonstop and disagreeing with him.
Would you ef off, I wasn't taslking to you, and if I want any crap out of you, I'll squeeze your head
I don't. Why do you assume the worst from the Minutemen instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt?
That would be my guess. I'm always suspicious of people who ONLY work for people or entities that have huge mailing lists.
Since Jim is traveling, could you tell Peach where the other thread about the bogus report went...
She said she posted on it this morning..and now it is gone..
Can you freepmail her...or could you let her know WHO she could ask or find out?
Thank you, sleuth
Dude, these guys and gals are Americans who care about protecting our borders and while they have not been particularly effective they have shed an enormous light on the problem of illegal immigration that far outweighs their numbers. I'm sorry, but I consider them Patriots. The fact that you see any of their deaths as some darwinian reward and not the outrage that it most certainly would be has my jaw dropping as I type this.
Amazing how the usual open borders cheerleaders get a free pass on the personal attacks rule around here.
Careful, bub; your stripes are showing.
Whether we'll expose the 'true conservatives' or not, time will tell. Heading out, see you all later.
Nope. I cede that point to you. I am concerned with the present though. Blaming the past is fruitless.
Oh give me a break.
