Say: O followers of the Book! Come to an equitable proposition between us and you that we shall not serve any but Allah and (that) we shall not associate aught. With Him and (that) some of us shall not take others for lords besides Allah, but if they turn back, then say: Bear witness that we are Muslims. (The Family of Imran).

Him quoting this line from the Koran got my attention and makes me feel that Mansfield might be correct about this.

Especially when you remember the way they refer to Imran in the book just a few verses later

3.67 Ibrahim was not a Jew nor a Christian but he was (an) upright (man), a Muslim, and he was not one of the polytheists.

Couple that with this teaching from the Koran

5.51 O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Cristians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely hi is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people

This could very well be his "last chance" to justify his actions in his twisted mind.

Of course the Iranian President is crazy but, I do not think he is a fool. This is why I must consider the possiblity that they already have a nuclear device and are capable of delivering it.
