A Yale University historian has uncovered a 1918 letter that seems to lend validity to the lore that Yale University's ultra-secret Skull and Bones society swiped the skull of American Indian leader Geronimo.
The letter, written by one member of Skull and Bones to another, purports that the skull and some of the Indian leader's remains were spirited from his burial plot in Fort Sill, Okla., to a stone tomb in New Haven that serves as the club's headquarters.
According to Skull and Bones legend, members _ including President Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush _ dug up Geronimo's grave when a group of Army volunteers from Yale were stationed at the fort during World War I. Geronimo died in 1909.

'Harlyn Geronimo, the great grandson of Geronimo, said he has been looking for a lawyer to sue the U.S. Army, which runs Fort Sill. Discovery of the letter could help, he said.'
Sue the Army for what?

So let me get this straight...Football teams can't use words like "Braves" because it's racist, but the wealthy elite can rob graves and keep the skulls of indians ?
Seems to me me a warrant should be issued to search for stolen property.

Just as I thought after I posted, I should have searched under Geronimo alone.

Geronimo was buried at the military cemetery at Ft. Sill, which was, and still is a major U.S Army base [it's the home of the Field artillery]. I assume he believes they are the agency responsible for preventing grave robbing. Can't say I disagree.

Sue the Army for what?Maybe to get Geronimo's remains?
"If we get the remains back... and find that, for instance, that bones are missing, you know who to blame." Harlyn Geronimo, the great grandson of Geronimo

Sue the Army for what? From the article
According to Skull and Bones legend, members _ including President Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush _ dug up Geronimo's grave when a group of Army volunteers from Yale were stationed at the fort during World War I. Geronimo died in 1909.
If these college boys were in the Army, the Army would be liable for their actions.
I guess Prescott could get a post humus Court Marshal.

I'm sure you mean court martial.

Seems to me me a warrant should be issued to search for stolen property. Would this letter constitute probable cause? Would the statute of limitations cover grave robbing? Are human remains Property?

If I have my facts right Geronimo was a wealthy, Christian man.
Will somebody post his picture of him riding around in a car?

Obviously there is no "controlling legal authority"...
I wonder if they would come after me if I ha d the skull of a dead indian...hmm ?
Besides, the name "skull and bones" just wouldn't hold any real meaning if they didn't really have some.

This can hardly be considered "proof", one member bragging to another. That's like finding a letter from a Branch Davidian which claims that David Koresh is Christ.

I seem to remember a 70's song whose lyrics included "Oh Lord take me back, I want to ride in Geronimo's Cadillac".
To: Pontiac
But is it Probable Cause?
Sure, why not. If someone has interest in finding out if those boys have his skull let them have a look.
