U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

I don't know since I don't have access to the Presidential Daily Briefing - but even I think I was concerned that groups like the Minuteman Project would not be able to control those out for "vigilante justice" - Mr. & Mrs. Gilchrist are members at my Church, so I recall the issues very clearly.

I did check my "ping list" - I would not be asking you the question if I could find it - get it?

Whatever. It has no bearing on my comments to you whether you are a girl or a guy.

Second of all, never refer to yourself as a "Girl". you are in college, refer to yourself as "Woman".

With respect to the immigration scamnesty, most college profs. will never ever have to worry about their jobs being driven down the toilet, literally, by illegals.

What is the most aggravating thing about this is the lies coming from GWB mainly, but the rest of the RINO chorus.

They talk down the average American and encourage our invasion.

That was the question I was asking YOU: "What crime were you referring to?" You never answered that. I was also advising you (as I have several other people) that I have never advocated violence here either. Not sure what exactly your dispute is.

My "tactic" was asking you a simple question as to what "crime" of mine you were referring to.

"With that said, I stand by the remaining 95% of my post. The conclusions are the same, with or without today's story: We have been, and continue to be, betrayed by leadership at the top, in the ways I described..."

Precisely. This particular story is merely the most current straw placed atop a very large pile of similar straws. While it is important to verify the veracity of this story, if it is tossed out tomorrow as untrue that changes nothing. The federal government understands quite well that it has a "trust problem" with the American people.

Anyone who read your statement as posted would come away with the fact that I had already accused you of violence and you know it.

Anyone who read my clarification would know what I really meant. You probably think Bush called the Minutemen "vigilantes" too, right?

Darn it, if I'd read this, I would have watched John Gibson. I'm going to make a point to start watching Lou Dobbs since reading about what he's been saying on the illegal immigration issue.

I have been watching Lou Dobbs faithfully for about a year now.

He is "spot on" about the immigration problem and the decline of the middle class.

I'll clarify my comment about the Confederacy. To the southerners the yankees were the traitors. Rightly or wrongly they viewed Lincoln as a tyrant and the yankee abolitionists as interlopers involving themselves in the business of other states, sticking their nose in where it didn't belong. That is why the CSA constitution is an almost exact replica of the US constitution, with minor changes to fit what they supposed the problems with the original document to be.

Also note that the New England states threatened secession during the War of 1812 for similar reasons. Federal government interrupting trade between those states and England.

Now I see that their is some question about the validity of this article, I still believe it. The truly pathetic thing is the federal government which is constitutionally responsible, has allowed the situation to deteriorate to the point that these border watch organizations even exist. The government is delinquent in it's duties, that is both parties and the bureaucrats.

Before however, we didn't have any evidence of collusion regarding where they were. If this is true, and I doubt the USBP HQ, an American agent conspiring with a foreign entity against law abiding American citizens is treason.

Knowing they are operating in an area and knowing exact locations of routes and monitoring points would tend to greatly aid efforts to move contraband and illegal aliens through.

Let me put a question to all posters on this thread. I have personally been over the entire length of the Southern Border regions doing personal scouting and general Mapping expeditions over several years. How many of you here have personal close in experience and first hand knowledge of the extremes of climate in the Sonoran Desert of Northern Mexico.I would venture a guess that it is less than 1% if that much. Your opinions here pale in the reality of actually having been there live and in living color.

This problem is going to haunt the citizens of this country from now till doomsday. You had better get serious about what we are facing here and do some intensive research about whats happening in this situation. You have no real appreciation for the WAR we are engaged in Our National Sovereignty and your Birthright hang in the balance. I have reached a point where I am physically un able to trek this territory like I used to so tak it from me we are in Trouble!

Your initial post was the setup trick and you know it.

Oh, and please name all other anti illegal immigrant groups mentioned by the MSM and on FR on March 23-30, 2005 that were going down to the southern border to try to stop invaders. I need to know all the possible vigilante groups.

I scouted the border region on the US side between Las Cruces, New Mexico to Organ Pipe National Monument, Arizona over a two year period on weekends while stationed at Fort Huachuca. I have more extensive knowledge of the border between Nogales, Arizona and Douglas, Arizona. My experience comes from hiking trails, visiting monuments, visiting historical sites and ghost towns, camping in the region, and stopping at the gas stations and bars and chatting up the locals when they would talk. My knowledge on the Mexican side of the border is understandably more limited.

I haven't lived my entire life there, like some that post here have. I want to go back there if only for those sunsets and sunrises though.

From mid 1996-mid 1998 I witnessed people crossing the border several times. I even manged to get one group caught. Is this the type of experience you are looking for?
