I scouted the border region on the US side between Las Cruces, New Mexico to Organ Pipe National Monument, Arizona over a two year period on weekends while stationed at Fort Huachuca. I have more extensive knowledge of the border between Nogales, Arizona and Douglas, Arizona. My experience comes from hiking trails, visiting monuments, visiting historical sites and ghost towns, camping in the region, and stopping at the gas stations and bars and chatting up the locals when they would talk. My knowledge on the Mexican side of the border is understandably more limited.

I haven't lived my entire life there, like some that post here have. I want to go back there if only for those sunsets and sunrises though.

From mid 1996-mid 1998 I witnessed people crossing the border several times. I even manged to get one group caught. Is this the type of experience you are looking for?

Absolutely ; this situation is so fluid and dynamic it boggles the mind I have wore myself out in this quest and have got to slow down at a time we need to speed up. Rotating shifts are needed!
