U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

Is an American patriot.

Sorry, but my idea of an American patriot doesn't talk to his son about dead cats or claim his daughter "misunderstood" a leg massage.

Maybe yours does.

I am going on the direct quotes of Simcox himself.

Then why are you posting links on FR for the SPLC?

You're a despicable character and could be sued for slander.

If it's a lie, why didn't Simcox sue the SCPL?

Thank you Mr. Burt Prelutsky...for the following:

What part of 'illegal' don't you get?

Getting down to cases, I don't like Fox and I don't like illegal aliens. I realize that opens me up to the charge of being a racist. After all, most of our illegal population happens to be Mexican. Well, that's not my fault – it's theirs. Believe it or not, if millions of Canadians came sneaking across our northern border, I'd be against them, too....

First off, I, personally, don't like the 21st-century version of slavery much more than I liked the 19th-century variety..

For another thing, anybody who tells you that the millions of illegals in this country are paying their own way is simultaneously selling you a bill of goods and trying to send you off on a guilt trip. Most illegals are day laborers working for cash, menials working for about $5 per hour, unemployed and/or criminals.

Considering that none of them is earning enough to pay income taxes, how on earth can anybody claim they're not costing the middle class a fortune in health care, schooling, welfare and incarceration?

So, we don't arrest every illegal worker in America – instead, we arrest every employer who hires an illegal. We fine them and we send their sorry butts to the cooler. Next, we do not grant automatic citizenship to babies born to illegals. In short, we do whatever needs to be done to take the "welcome" off our welcome mat. People have been wiping their feet on it long enough. This is not what Emma Lazarus's poem was all about....

Why on earth would a government want to be spying on a group of what they consider "vigilantes"?

The same way they did on militiamen, waco, ruby ridge etc. and any other group they feel is a threat, not necessarily a threat to its citizens but to the bigwigs on the hill

Tell me how is it that Dems can belong to a group like DSA and not be on the list of who should be watched, it's called 'politics'

He didn't even deny it he just said that she was drunk and misunderstood his "leg rub".

Everybody should go read the link so you can see how this apparent quote is not what Texasforever has put it forward to be. It is supposedly a quote from his daughter told by his first ex-wife. Or so the SPLC says. But read the above and you would think TF is quoting Simcox himself.

But let's cut the crap. The MM is not about Simcox and they will not only survive his demise (whether by his own downfalls or from character assassination) but they will continue to grow in popularity and public esteem. I have yet to hear of a single accusation, much less a legal charge, against them and the ACLU has had its volunteers hanging on the MMs shoulders like organ grinder's monkeys.

It's in court records.

If that's true, it is from the statements of an estranged wife. Am I right?

Maybe that ex-wife is kinda like you?
