While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.
"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.
"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."
Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.
"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.
"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

U bave = I have not
Child molestation?
Care to back that up? I have better things than to follow your vicious attacks on the Minutemen all day and night.
One last post:
Requesting that you do not post to ME again.
Since your first post to me today was an unsolicited one, where you commented on my reply to another FReeper.
So... you started it.
I honestly wonder if this began at Campo?
Eh heh heh.
This guy Simcox is a bad guy and I hope to hell the time is coming when he gets what is coming to him.
If you want to take the SPLC as your gospel go right ahead. I wonder how they characterize the President? I bet Al Franken gave them some good quotes about him.
I have no idea where it is in this huge thread, so can you re-post your proof that Simcox is a child molestor?
The link is up thread go get it yourself. Now get lost.
Second request that you not post to me again.
I posted it twice, go find it.
Very interesting reading when you find it.
They're quoting the SPLC as their source that Chris Simcox is a child molester?
OMG, the harpies have sunk to new lows.
Who'd have thunk they could get any lower than a snake's belly?
Southern Poverty Law Center is the source for the slander? Texasforever, you're willing to crawl in bed with some pretty dubious sources in your efforts to smear a patriotic organization. Now why would you do that?
MOST CRANKY THREAD OF 2006
No, you smelling is fine.
Ironic that is the defense Moussaoui is using
They might as well be citing DU as the source for their info. Absolutely pathetic, and Tex-Mex recites it as gospel truth.
Sorry; I've read his biography. He's a dangerous man.
I'll go one further... If we get mad at the illegals we war If they get mad at us we war Either way Vincente wins yes?
Where did I say I did?
Frankly, a court removing his custody of his own child should bother you, but anything for the cause, eh?
