While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.
"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.
"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."
Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.
"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.
"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

The document entitled "The First Report on the Activities known as The Minutemen Project" (roughly translated) is dated April 11, 2005. So far, it is discussing the Minutemen's formation through the Mexican government's communication with our Government about its displeasure with this group. That their displeasure has been brought up to various US officials several times, and again when the Fox was in Waco with the President. It also mentions legal actions it was looking into taking.
Some of these occurrences I have read in other news articles before, but my brief summary above does not nearly summarize everything I've read so far.
Let them have their fun. The last of the fence sitters on this issue will dive squarely to the right side because of this revelation. If the management of our own government agency that the Texas Minutemen are trying to support, trying to get help and money, more agents and more and better equipment, want to snitch us out to the drug smugglers and the human traffickers, ok.
If they want to be such rotten azz holes, ok.
There just might be a change in attitude and expectations when the Minutemen are around now. The rank and file Agents might not be so inclined to tell management we are in the area. We might not be so willing to call the local Ports of Entry and BP Stations with "Minutemen" reports, which BP knows to be highly accurate. We will simply call it in as "Joe" and then let BP guess as to which ones come from us, which ones are going to be the juicy well timed calls that net 15 to 30 at a pop.
Perhaps we will just accidently leave radios laying around that rank and file agents will find and be able to listen to our sightings and the Station Chiefs will never know we are in the area.
Lotta stuff could change out there.

I didn't hear the interview Liddy and Hill had with Simcox live, but they did replay it. He was on at around 4:45 pm or so AZ time. They were absolutely stunned when Simcox told them this. They had him on to talk about the news on spying on the Minute Men when he told them. I guess we'll have to see what develops.
