While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.
"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.
"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."
Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.
"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.
"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

I saw it and didn't initially believe it but was ultimately persuaded it's true. And outrageous.
And I will say this -- if Republicans don't turn AT LEAST this procedure around, they are toast in November.
So what. This will happen anyway if 12+ million poor illiterate non-citizens and their 36 million dependents eventually get the right to vote.
It'll just take a few more years.

Just posted this on the Arizona board:
I was driving home and happened to listen to Liddy and Hill. They had been talking to Chris Simcox, co-founder of the MM and he said a big shoe is about to drop tomorrow, as he has evidence that the internal structures of the individual MM chapters and the names of some people within these chapters are being given to the Mexican government.

They are on for another 45 munites
"These morons have no idea the kind of sh*tstorm they are brewing up. I just hope they don't get us all killed."
Man, is that the truth! and MORON is the operative word.
" Maybe the WH has better things to do than track all the silly stories the MSM writes."
This story has legs. People are angry and they feel betrayed.
If the story is false- it should have been nipped in the bud- hours ago.
Pretending it doesn't exist or is trifling and will go away on it's own accord -is naive.
Every hour that this story festers and metastasizes causes more damage to the administration.
Why they can't see this, is beyond me.
So you think the DEMOCRATS are going to do what you want? They're gonna be singing "Welcome all ye illegal immigrants" as soon as they're elected.
BTTT
ABC News at the top of the hour is saying top administration officials denying the story. The Daily Bulletin is standing by the story.
Anybody who doubts you are a dyed-in-the-wool Bushbot should see your profile page.
The only way we're getting amnesty is if conservatives let the rats win in November.
Well, nobody here will ever believe it's not true, will they?
You're absolutely right about that. Of course, that is neither an improvement on or a deterioration of the situation with the current administration.
O'Reilly covered some of it tonite. I'm going to watch the replay at 11 because I was watching something else. What I did see is he had a Hispanic man on the was totally thrilled this was going on. The other guest, I didn't catch the name, refused to come on.
Ya know, if I was the one being "interviewed" by the foreign government, I believe the only thing they would get out of me is, "Get Bent!"
I know it's ancient history to you, but the republican purge of 92' DID lead to the first republican majority in congress for over forty years in 94'.
And leaving our erstwhile representatives to the tender mercies of their opponents should provide a strong lesson in screwing your friends to accommodate your enemies.
*claps* Yay! It's about damn time someone tried to use Bushbot like it's a bad thing! I was counting to see how many posts that would take.
So is it true or not? I've disagreed with Bush on many issues, but I haven't found him dishonest.
