U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

Good for you I agree they are not helping with such irresponsible language.

What "crime" are you talking about? I have never advocated violence on this thread.

Well there clawrence3, we meet again on an immigration thread.

You have stated that you goal is to TRIPPLE the annual number of immigrants to 3 million/year, and take anyone from the best to the worst.

You have a long way to go, and the tide is against you.

Sorry - I got you mixed up with someone else who called for Chertoff's resignation. Have a good night.

So, you want Chertoff to resign because he is a bad handler / advisor?

Impeaching Clinton was necessary and right. He deserved conviction, as well.

Discontent on issues or policies, no matter how strong, is not a reason to impeach or ask for same.

Here's where it gets REALLLLL interesting.

IMHO, it will get to critical mass at the grassroots level across the land, first within the conservative movement where it already has a firm footing and is getting even hotter (as we speak!) and then increasingly with John Q. Sixpack, the great middle class of the USA, a huge component of the vote. This has the potential of being an incredible Ross Perot-style open political rebellion against the established order of Do Nothing Bush/RNC and Do Nothing Democrats.

Then, Watch for 'Republicans With Finger In Air-types' suddenly to come to Jesus, and start to make all kinds pronouncements and slick moves against illegal aliens to fortify their tenuous positions.

They will do this despite their terrible voting records of allowing this thing to fester.

They may add to their new found rhetoric (they are only interested in saving their congressional seats, not the Republic), a couple of votes in favor of the anti-illegal alien position.

Just enough to solidify their positions for the general election of 2006. The clever, slick, insincere SNEAKY b*stards. They will say all the right things, hoping nobody will notice their actual voting records or true intent. Lots of these buzzards are masters of deceit. I think they can now see the handwriting on the wall and will find ways to spin their positions.

Then they will go right back to their pro-illegal or inactive positions on this issue for 2007 onward.

Lots of Americans will be sold out, but it will only be THEIR fault. They need to fiercely examine how these guys have voted all along. Conservatives either need to stay home, or vote third party conservative when faced with such RINOs On the Issue of Illegal Immigragtion, standing for reelection in their districts.

It is the ONLY way they will get the message.

Good information kit to start with. What I'm interested in is to what extent these two bureaucrats can or can't be considered loyal American conservatives.

Good start though. : )

**Conservatives either need to stay home, or vote third party conservative**

Meet Speaker of the House Pelosi. Welcome to two years of impeachment hearings and the rats destroying our ability to win the WOT.

Yes. And whose fault will that be?

You are talking to somebody with nearly 25 years grassroots activism within the Republican Party.

The Democrats will SLAUGHTER the Republicans in 2006 at the polls unless the Republicans completely take charge on the issue of closing the border and nothing else, except enacting severe employer sanctions and cutting off all public services at the federal and state levels, and this is needed from the President on down, to every state legislature and county council.

And no more of this amnestia mierda. I'm not buying anything less.
