I'm more upset with Conservatives than I am with George W. Bush

Posted on 05/08/2006 7:04:26 PM PDT by mwfsu84

If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?

If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?

If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?

Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.

And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.

So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.

If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?

George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.

If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.

I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.

So your issue to get others to spend their money? So you can just vote? I'm clear on your thing, now.

I never understood that guy either. I was put on his list a long time ago.

NO conservative would vote otherwise. You and I know that much.

Anyone who actually IS a conservative knows that, onyx.

It's what's separating the sheep from the goats around here these days.

The 'goats' would rather have leftist traitors in positions of power than people who vote conservative 80% of the time.

They are most certainly NOT conservatives, no matter how much they squawk and scream that they are more 'pure.'

My congress critter, Jim Kolbe, told us in 1992 that when NAFTA was implemented, we'd see a lot fewer illegals crossing the border because life would be so wonderful in Mexico.

That worked out, didn't it?

Plus, the weakened GOP would have to go back to its roots if it lost power, because it would have to give people a reason to give them power back.

The only problem with that is that the dems can do a hell of lot of damage in the time it takes for that to happen. The military, the courts, our intelligence apparatus, the whole WOT. The question is how much sh*t is everybody willing to eat in those areas to right the ship?

No, the ones missing the big picture are the ones who can't see past the next election. They're the ones who can't understand that a temporary setback can sometimes be the price for what it takes to avert a major disaster down the road.

Two or more non-constructionists appointed to the Supreme Court aren't a temporary setback, you transparent fakejob.

they missed the fact that the UAE took over nine plants in the US last week as their purchase of Doncasters was approved by CFIUS after a 30 day review and Bush signed the approval.

.........and with barely a peep from the 'rats except to say that THIS time the proper procedure for vetting took place.

The proper procedures were also followed with the first Dubai ports deal, except that the 'rats and some kneejerk reacting republicans didn't know what they were talking about until it was too late to reverse course.

I am SO grateful I live in the South.

Sometimes for the fun of it, I check the state flags of the malcontent posters. Sure enough -- several are stuck in blue states where their precious votes don't really matter. I then remind myself of the old adage that says "misery likes company."

Sure, alot of people are pissed, after all the DNC and their proxies in the media keep telling us we have a lot to be pissed off about.

Have you actually been watching the media lately? Their whole angle by and large has been pro-amnesty. They certainly haven't been condemning politicians for being too much in favor of it. If they're upset at Bush for anything on this issue, it's for not moving fast enough in that direction for their tastes.

This might be an uncomfortable lesson for you to learn, but not everyone who disagrees with you has been manipulated by the MSM. Some of them (*gasp!*) may actually think for themselves.

Having our Republic destroyed by leftist traitors is NOT a 'temporary setback.'

And EVERY conservative on this forum knows that. Those who claim it would be good for the country........long or short term.........to have traitors at the helm, don't care about the country. Period.

You mean those people AREN'T the "true conservatives"? Lol they'll be whining for the good old days of President Bush when Hillary is elected. I just hope it doesn't come to that.

I'm sorry...but the facts just don't bear that out.

Despite what it feels like when you are here, and despite what it feels like when you talk to your friends or even in your neighborhood—most people do not want what Conservatives are proposing.

You are just flat out wrong. Maybe not in your circle, but in the country at large.

You're exactly right.

I literally MARVEL at the posters who now believe the WP and other such ilk as though those publications were the GOSPEL TRUTH.

No, the ones missing the big picture are the ones who can't see past the next election.

With the way this country is divided we are always one election cycle away from disaster. There is no BIG PICTURE other than doing all in our power not to allow this nation to come under democrat rule. This is not a damned game.

If they have anything to say about it, Hillary WILL be elected.

They're on her side.

We must hold our chosen Republican representatives accountable for their actions. If they have failed to represent us, then replacements must be found and elected.

However, to continue to vote for Republicans that have failed to represent the people who elected them, it the utmost in stupidity.

If Republicans are doing the exact same thing as Democrats, why are we supporting them?

You and I both want a strong Conservative government and we share that dedication.

How can we get the people most qualified for the job, if we do not demand accountability?

Do we obtain the most qualified conservative people by electing any idiot that is calling himself a Republican today?

Some of our current Republicans in the House and Senate were former Democrats, but simply switched parties to get elected.

In all honesty, is this what we want? Do we blindly support any person that claims to be a Republican, no matter what he has done in the past?

If so, then people like Senator Chris Dodd are exactly what we deserve.

What are you talking about? The shooting at the El Al counter in LA was a terrorist attack. The Virginia sniper was a terorrist attack. The SUVcide at UNC was a terrorist attack. The suicide bombing outside the OU football game was a terrorist attack...

Then hold them accountable FIRST!

You really don't want the federal government managing the local hen house do you?
