I'm more upset with Conservatives than I am with George W. Bush

Posted on 05/08/2006 7:04:26 PM PDT by mwfsu84

If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?

If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?

If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?

Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.

And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.

So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.

If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?

George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.

If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.

I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.

THAT POST OF YOURS IS A KEEPER!

And whadda we hear from the "other" guys? It's about illegals and spending. Period. Always those two issues. They can see nothing but those two issues. That's it, and that's all. They can't see how amazing this President has been and how hard he's worked. And the amazing lot he has accomplished that is GOOD and EXCELLENT.

Now, we're stooping to intimidation? I don't think that's wise.

The Great Sinkspur Enemies list. I think his middle name is Milhous.

Not a fan of President Nixon, huh?

They seem to arrive in hordes and waves. They must have some type of moonbat whistle that only they can hear..

I've noticed that. Waves of outrage over Miers, then quiet....until the Dubai ports deal, and the same people, in the same tsunami.....now, they've come roaring back over the immigration bills.

Always angry, always against Bush, against "RINOS", pushing the Constipation Party or some other group of misfits.

There'll be another wave over something else before the election.

I gave you the answer

No, you just threw a snit. And then you followed up with a more rambling one.

If you're going to argue that people should take it upon themselves to do government's job (secure the border), then you'd have no grounds for objecting to someone telling you to do government's job (fight al-Qaeda). Rant away, but you can't run away from that.

A Democrat-controlled Congress would love to humiliate Bush by forcing an immediate withdrawal from Iraq.

Would that take place before or after they "remove him from office"?

You make it seem as though President Bush would just roll over and play dead at whatever the 'rats tossed at him.

Unlike how you come across, Bush is not a skittish little mouse.

I don't have any problem with that assertion, but maintaining that every incumbent should be turned out of office is not a reasoned approach. In fact, it's indefensible.

Here in Texas, we're not entirely pleased with every Republican, but we sure as hell don't think we'll be pleased with their opponents.

OMG there is no way you can say there is no open borders policy with the millions and millions of illegals marching in our streets. Securing our borders is the first thing that should have been done on 9-11.

When Bush said homeland security I assumed he meant homeland security...silly me.

The state party is filthy from the ground up. Even the local yocal party functionary selectively extended invitations to a candidates night in a feeble attempt to steer the primaries in local elections. The party is filthy....top to bottom....Federal, state, Local and unless we replace a critical mass, newcomers will be assimilated or eliminated.

"They only do it because they can get away with it" sounds a lot like Clinton's "Because I could" excuse. We're supposed to be better than that. The Republican refuse needs to be kicked to the curb.

It doesn't make any difference! Every position or view that he takes is straight out of the DemonRATS playbook. Anti-Christian, anti-conservative, pro-illegal aliens, anti-American patriots, advocate of RINO's & liberals & left-wingers. Just for once it would be a welcome change to see him advocate a conservative viewpoint. Kind of makes me wonder about you as well! The reason that Bush & the Repub Party are in such a disarray is because of their pandering, capitulating & appeasing of Dims, libs & lefties. Just for once it would be nice to see Bush & the Repub Party come out swinging in favor of convervative policies & views.

In the 90s, I read every "Bircher" material I could get my hands on, and there was plenty. Ultimately, I learned far more about the Birchers than I cared too.

I think they devised the tinfoil hat. Reading their materials was akin to being invited to sit by the fire and be told a nightmare.

I've read materials contradictory to the Birchers' materials.

Did you guys know that the phrase 'conventional wisdom' was coined by none other than JK Galbraith? William F.'s good skiing buddy hisself! Something the cat learned this past week. And what else are we reading here on this thread from the Bush bots (and some others to be fair)? It's another description of pedestrianism, of tired and worn cliches, parroted phrases, and the like. The blame game (going on since the 1992 fiasco) and likely to continue after this Novembwr's smashing successes. No lessons learned, no perspective, no anticipatory thinking, we're dumbies!

Again, if you wish to discuss immigration, you're talking to the wrong person. And, no, fighting terrorists should have been (and was) the first thing done on 9/11.

Then do it, because you won't break off enough of the GOP support to EVER make them notice. 2% won't be noticed.

Actually it's just mind control waves. Don't worry, your tinfoil hat will prevent you from succumbing. Just remember to put it back on after you get out of the shower, because otherwise.... (shudder)
