Applied to take a military cruise up the Columbia during Rose festival, but got a letter yesterday saying that there were very few military ships this year and priority was going to CG Auxiliary members who wanted to ride. Hope you got selected if you applied!

Sorry you got bumped.
I didn't even know about this till just now.
I have enough "sea time" from my DD back then,
and "sea time" on the Station 47' and the Intrepid,
while I was qualifying as a station watch stander.
Now I just exam commercial fishing vessels for
safety and verify CG "tickets" i.e. boarding party
issues "tickets", then I and my crew verify
the items are fixed.
I'm content climbing on board commercial vessels
dockside and don't miss the "sea time"
