Bill O'Reilly is only FOR whatever isn't seen as "fringy and extreme", takes no serious stand on anything. If he's the face of modern conservatives, I'd say they are all GIRLIE-MEN.
I couldn't give a rip what's considered "mainstream" by BOR or his knee-padders on this forum.

You should consider what is mainstream and practical. Politics is at least partly about convincing people of your vision and moving the status quo in the direction you want it moved.
If your positions are impractical or alienating, you can't build consensus, and you won't ever be given the chance to get things done.
I'm a conservative, and not a girly man in any way, but I do realize there are some conservative principles that most Americans don't want. I see no justifiable reason to pursue an agenda that most people don't support. I figure if we cant convince most people that we are right, we don't deserve to advance on the issue.
I realize that many conservatives who are fixated on one issue may find that unpalatable, but they aren't even likely to gain a consensus among conservatives, let alone the general public. And in most cases, that's a good thing.
