What's in a Name? Plenty If It's Kennedy (Patches "Generally Dumber Than Two Rocks")
Washington Post ^ | 05/08/2006 | Howard Kurtz

Posted on 05/08/2006 3:08:01 AM PDT by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

It's hard to imagine that Patrick Kennedy would have gotten elected to Congress a dozen years ago without his last name.

It's equally hard to imagine that the media would be going wild about his late-night car crash and prescription drug addiction if he weren't a Kennedy.

The only lingering mystery is why national news organizations didn't pounce earlier on the Rhode Island Democrat's long history of alcohol and drug abuse, depression and a series of downright embarrassing incidents.

Patches seat is safe for life.

Who knows, he may take out Chafe and get up on to the big bed.

Never underestimate the smallest state in the Republic.

What? A not too rosey picture of a Kennedy?

This from the washington post?

I almost fainted when I noticed any story from this once great paper now a rag about a kennedy not being a saint.
Actually noting how young pat is a pathetic loser.

Mystery? Come on, think hard! I bet you can figure it out. If not, ask an 8 yo kid.

When I see that kid's eyes I see a nut. Too much inner-breeding in that family over the centuries.

The story takes a quick shot at patches and then goes back to beating up on President bush., which has nothing to do withth story. Typical media BS.

"Generally Dumber Than Two Rocks"

Let's give credit where credit is due. Pat Kennedy is dumber than a whole box of rocks, not just two.

The key to this is that, with the exception of Senator Ted (who looks like the embodiment of the Portrait of Dorian Grey) the first generation of Kennedy brothers was photogenic, witty and their scandals involved exotic mob mistresses, East German spies/femme fatales and Marilyn Monroe -- good for selling newspapers. With the exception of JFK, Jr., the current generation of Kennedys is stupid, ugly, classless and their "scandalous" women are usually floozies or some minor congressional staffer with mediocre looks. They're not good press and the over half of the country that wasn't even born when Camelot ended could care less about them or reading articles about them.

Patches seat is safe for life.

Exactly, just like daddy's seat is safe in MA. People just don't learn, don't understand WHY these fools keep getting re-elected over and over and over and over.........

From the Wikipedia entry for Patrick J. Kennedy:

"If Kennedy is ever elected to the Senate while his father, Ted Kennedy, is still a senator from Massachusetts, they would become the second father and son to serve in the Senate together. They already are the drunkest father and son to serve in the Legislature."

Why do they call him "Patches"? From the band aids on his arm to hide the track marks? I had a cat named Patches once, I hated it. All it did was sleep and eat catnip.
