Down a nickle in La Crosse at the discount stations. Held at $2.82 for weeks and is $2.77 today. The stations out by the mall are at 2.87, down 2 cents.

When the GOP-at-any-cost (RINO) wing that loves playing politics more than they care about the country come out of their fog the second week of November and control only the White House, I wonder if they'll be so eager to invite conservatives to leave.

Neither of my (fairly) decent senators are up for election and the rep race is beyond hope due to racial gerrymandering. It may not make much difference, but I'm not voting for anyone over the county level in '06.

I'm not leaving, just on strike.

It's a good thing Americans have had the good sense to elect men that their party leaders could not control.

I know. It's sad, to go from one of the most Conservative districts in the country to this. Kirk is useless.

When 31 percent of conservatives want pelosi as speaker the election is as ugly as it can get.

Where in the heck did you get this stat? There can't be this many stupid conservatives. I don't believe this for one minute.

You would prefer a liberal Dem to Kirk? You know, RINO's have a place. Your district is Exhibit A. The Dems still hold about 10 seats or so, with quite conservative Dems, which would probably flip (although maybe not this year in many cases), if they were not running.

Isn't that the truth.

The undeniable truth.

Our do-nothing, spineless GOP Congress wont pass a bill to drill in ANWR

There is a majority in both Houses to drill in ANWR. The problem is a dem filibuster in the Senate. We need 60 votes. What did Ted Stevens muster last time -- 57?

I can get as disgruntled as the next person about excessive spending, but the fact is, Congress is paralyzed. We need 60 votes in the Senate. In fact, given the half a dozen liberal Republicans, we need a few more than that. That's the name of the game.

When the dems moved the country left in a major way, they had supermajorities in both Houses. These were the New Deal Congresses, the Great Society Congresses, and the post-Watergate Congresses. Repubilcans have never had that kind of dominance unless you go back to Reconstruction. That's not a complaint; I'm just stating a fact. But some of the gloom and doomers need to adjust their perspectives on what is possible.

lol

I'm referring to charlie christ who is running for governor. The two top gop candidates are running for governor and leaving the senate gop race without a top tier candidate.

Referring to another post the 31 percent was a from an ap poll so take it for what it is worth.

But the trends aren't good. In 04 bush was polling very well with conservatives and gop. He was almost always over 90 percent with the gop and now is at 66 percent in the ap poll and only 52 percent with conservatives.

Bush needs to go on conservative radio and fight back against the bashing from the media. He needs to get some of that support back.

Still, I'm leaning toward the Constitutional Party in November.

You sound like housewife gossip.

Housewife "A" says, "my laundry detergent leaves my cloths dingy". Housewife "B" replies I'm leaning toward Wisk or Fab or some other detergent, have you tried it?"

If you can't get a conservative elected in a Republican primary, you'll never get the general electorate to do the same in a general election.

Anyway, I hear the Constitution party is 99 and 44/100% Pure. Maybe you should do your laundry with it.

President Bush's Nixonian economic policies

Does he mean W has imposed price and wage controls on the economy? I must have been asleep.

I'm absolutely with you on this (see tagline). Again, I'll say I'm not a Bush hater at all. I am disappointed at the overall execution of the GOP these last four years and for real conservatives to have a voice they've got to get angry and get mobilized.
