Jimmy Carter: Punishing the innocent is a crime [Barfer]
International Herald Tribune ^ | MAY 7, 2006 | Jimmy Carter

ATLANTA Hamas and the Palestinians

Innocent Palestinian people are being treated like animals, with the presumption that they are guilty of some crime. Because they voted for candidates who are members of Hamas, the United States government has become the driving force behind an apparently effective scheme of depriving the general public of income, access to the outside world and the necessities of life.

Overwhelmingly, these are school teachers, nurses, social workers, police officers, farm families, shopkeepers, and their employees and families who are just hoping for a better life. Public opinion polls conducted after the January parliamentary election show that 80 percent of Palestinians still want a peace agreement with Israel based on the international road map premises. Although Fatah party members refused to join Hamas in a coalition government, nearly 70 percent of Palestinians continue to support Fatah's leader, Mahmoud Abbas, as their president.

It is almost a miracle that the Palestinians have been able to orchestrate three elections during the past 10 years, all of which have been honest, fair, strongly contested, without violence and with the results accepted by winners and losers. Among the 62 elections that have been monitored by us at the Carter Center, these are among the best in portraying the will of the people, without violence and with the results accepted by winners and losers. He's clearly an anti-semite. I regard him as I do Russian skinheads, Neo-Nazis, and the Kevin MacDonalds of the world. They worship Carter at the Jewhating site LibertyForum, by the way.

I expect that fawning posts about the Peanut Farmer will soon also show up at CP, where other raving anti-semites are now being applauded.

In short, reaction to Jimmuh's latest can be summed up as follows:

Why doesn't this sack of a well known commodity crawl back in his hole. How in God's name was the American public duped into voting for this imbecile.

I voted for him when I was 18. It was my first vote and I clearly did not distinguish myself. Made the mistake of voting for him again 4 years later. Of all the dumb things we do in our youth, voting for Carter is one of my most shameful episodes. Thank God he lost and Ronald Reagan won! Jimmy Carter is the reason we saw the rise of radical islam in the late 70's. And he contines today to be the voice of cowardly appeasement and dhimmitude.

Exactly!

An electorate that grants an international terrorist organization the authority to rule them is not innocent. The majority are guilty of aiding and abetting international terrorism.

Teachers who instruct kindergarteners in the art of violating the international law of war through Islamokazi bombings of innocent civilians, and the society that supports such a dysfunctional educational system, are guilty of aiding and abetting international terrorism.

A society that aids and abets international terrorism is one that has forfeited its right to exist. While there are, no doubt, some truly innocents among them, the majority are guilty with blood on their hands.

That would make Carter one of the worst criminals ever.

His Presidency punished 250 million Americans.

Great Graphic....

Captain's quarters has some comments on Carter:

Carter: Give Money To Elected Terrorists

********************************* AN EXCERPT************************************

It's almost impossble to excerpt this silliness; one has to read the entire essay to get a sense of Carter's capitulation on terror. However, we can at least make a couple of specific points about the former president's argument.

*********************************************

People like Carter and James Wolfensohn seem to believe that we can buy peace by paying for terrorism. That explains a lot about the Carter presidency and the rise of Islamofascism. Carter once again proves that his ex-presidency only marginally improves on his presidency, but only in the sense that he has less power to keep affairs as screwed up as possible.

So now Carter says failure to fund terrorist causes us problems.

Lillian should have had an abortion when she carried this sob.

Please. Don't insult the ignorant dumb shit peanut farmers. They can't stand him, either.

It takes an exceptionally educated, sophisticated, intelligent, urbane type to appreciate Jimmy.

Spot on chesley! Got it in one. State dept types, academics (non-natural sciences of course), and failed politicians.

Here is an example of the latter type:

Policy Meltdown in the Middle East

"Anmong [sic!] the voices protesting the policy is the one of Jimmy Carter. He knows what he is talking about concerning the region."

I am sure the majority of the peanut farmers voted for Reagan, but I'm just as sure that the majority of those urbane sophisticates opted for the loser.

How ironic that both Geoge W Bush and Jimmy Carter have the same politically correct ideas about "reform" and "democracy" for the Middle East. Now oil is heading for $100 a barrel. How long until we have an "oil crisis"?

Anyway, Jimmy Carter got Israel and Egypt to sign treaties... an accomplishment that subsequent administrations could not pull off with Israel and any other Arab country.

Jimmy ends his babbling with this paragraph (my comments are in blue)

There is no way to predict what will happen in Palestine, but it would be a tragedy for the international community to abandon the hope that a peaceful coexistence of two states in the Holy Land is possible. Like Egypt and all other Arab nations
(excluding Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc.) before the Camp David Accords of 1978, and the Palestine Liberation Organization before the Oslo peace agreement of 1993, Hamas has so far refused to recognize the sovereign state of Israel as legitimate, with a right to live in peace (and were elected to power ON THAT PREMISE). This is a matter of great concern to all of us, and the international community needs to probe for an acceptable way out of this quagmire. There is no doubt that Israelis and Palestinians both want a durable two-state solution (HOW CAN HE SAY THIS? Read the red words above), but depriving the people of Palestine of their basic human rights (to kill Jews) just to punish their elected leaders (THAT THEY ELECTED - what an asshole!) is not a path to peace.

PEACE COMES AFTER VICTORY - YOU IDIOT!!!

Makes me wonder how he ever got elected.

Richard Nixon disgracing himself was part of that picture. Result, a publicly shamed GOP that did not find its stride until Reagan stepped forward at the end of Jimmy's first and only term. A dogcatcher could have beat out the nebbish Gerald Ford.
