I pointed out to FO on many occassions that the ratio of D-to-R votes in Rhode Island is far worse than CA. Rhode Island Dems enjoy a more than 2-to-1 lead over Republicans and Dems regularly win 60% of the vote in their statewide races by default. On the state level, they hold every constitutional office except Governor.

Unfortuantely for FO, one of those eeeeeeeeeeeeevil "unelectable" conservative Republicans won the Governorship of Rhode Island in 2002 and is expected to handily win re-election. He got the vast majority of independant voters on his side and crossover votes from the socially conservative, pro-life Catholic Dems (none of whom would ever vote for Ahnuld).

Your post should give all long suffering conservatives in California some real hope. Of course, around here, such thinking definitely goes against the CAGOP/New Majority RINO grain. They are dedicated to never ever letting a true conservative anywhere near a ballot.

Thanks for thinking of us.
