Michelle R. Smith needs to get off of her knees and wipe off her chin.
She sounds like Paul Begala (the other Monica Lewinsky) talking about Clinton.

Excerpt:
"Patricia Morgan, head of the state Republican Party, said shortly after Kennedy's announcement Friday afternoon that Kennedy wasn't capable of fulfilling his duties. She called for him to resign or ''take a medical leave of absence.''
"Jack McConnell, a lawyer, longtime Kennedy friend and former campaign manager, said such calls were insensitive, insulting and wrong.
''If Congressman Kennedy had had a heart attack, nobody at all would be calling for him to step aside. That's the problem for people who have mental health issues,'' he said. ''Patrick has spent his whole life fighting that stigma.''
Bill Lynch, chairman of the state Democratic Party, said he did not think Kennedy's disclosure that he was addicted to prescription drugs, and had sought help for it during the Christmas holiday, would affect Kennedy's chances for re-election.
Lynch said he expected Kennedy would be unanimously endorsed for re-election when the state Democratic convention is held tomorrow . No official candidates are running for Kennedy's seat."

''People here respect the fact that he's courageous enough to deal with this in the public eye, which is very difficult.''
Oh, PLEASE!!! Kennedy didn't deal with this publicly by choice. On the contrary, he got a local police official to try to cover up for him.

A Republican has stepped forward, Edmund R. Leather (R), a ex-foreign service officer has said he will run. Coincidentally, he was planning an announcement with the RIGOP the day after the accident. (Not sure how true this is)
However, I dont think he has a chance. Most RI's interviewed in the last three days said something along these lines "We all have our problems, this is a personal issue, I forgive him and still love him"

Actually according to the Boston Herald Leather announced his candidacy the day before the accident. Superb timing! In other news, it is rumored that the RIGOP is now seeking a more qualified candidate. (The only guy from this area of RI that could probably beat Kennedy though is Buddy Cianci)
After all one ex-con interviewed said
I dont care about the car crash, Hes great. All Kennedys are great!

Dear MassGOP,
It is encumbent upon you to explain to the non-Norumbegans on the site that the Democrat residents of Rhode Island serve a very profound purpose on the planet. It is their job to make Masshole Democrats look more intelligent than they actually are.
It's like Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. After listening to Boxer, Feinstein is actually a bit of a relief. After listening to Patches, Barney Frank sounds pretty good.

This is also the reason why New England Republicans still elect RINOs. They look good next to guys like Barney Frank.
