Sins of the father. The Kennedy's had everything to be grateful about. Why are they all so corrupt? My opinion, Joe Kennedy. He was rich and a complete fool. So his ambition got two of his son's assassinated and various other offspring imprisoned, dead of drug overdose, or involved in scandals and "rehab". Compare other families..say the Buckleys. It's Joe's fault.

Years ago I read in a Kennedy book that Old Joe had the gall once to bring his mistress Gloria Swanson on board when he and Rose sailed to Europe.

Papa Joe had a huge part in causing the Great Depression by collapsing the banking industry while he made millions.

Old Joe could never gain acceptance with "the Cabots and the Lodges." No matter how much money he made.
So he closed ranks, encouraged his children to see anyone outside the family as the enemy, and perceived that politics could get his family the power and respect he so deeply craved. His hubris and ambitions cost him dearly.

Joe Kennedy was also a Nazi sympathizer.
