The Kennedy family is known for its dedication to public health for the masses. Since Liberalism is a disease whose sufferers number conservatively (so to speak) in the millions, I suggest that Kennedy volunteer for an experiment at Mayo. Using hi-tech methods like Positron Emission Tomography, they may be able to tell just where in the brain Liberalism operates. Surely it's in a very primitive center, where neither alcohol, nor cocaine, nor Ambien can affect it, since it would appear that Patrick is able to vote the socialist line even when regularly impaired.

"So ... keep us in suspense no longer ... who was the gentleman?"
I dunno. A guy who owned an expensive British car who was wearing a suit that likely cost more than I earned in 6 months. That was enough for the cops.
Getting back to Pat Kennedy. Yes, although he 'discovered' he had a problem after escaping being incarcerated because of his last name, he will be lionized as being courageous for seeking treatment. His status will thus be enhanced.
Those of us who never do such things are just prudes who've never experienced all that life has to offer.
There is no question that it does indeed matter who you are -- and whether your on the Correct side of the ideological spectrum. We were treated to a clinic of how that works during the '90s, hmmm?

I'm confused by the "Kennedy didn't ask for special treatment" quote of his....
I thought he didn't remember anything about that night? How does he know if he asked for any special treatment or not?
To: Enchante
So which is it Patsy, are you lying when you say you don't remember anything at all or are you lying when you assert that you know (i.e., REMEMBER) that you did not ask for any special treatment???
Nice catch.

Well Anti-Bubba, I hope you are correct. However, it seems that they never get enough of the Kennedy's in the northeast. It seems that a Kennedy can run for office, not only in Massachusetts, just about anywhere else in the north east and he get's the position hand to him/her. So, I'll believe it when I see it as far as him being not re-electable.
Btw, why the "Anti-Bubba" handle? Bubba's are good people. The pull your cars out of ditches, fight your wars, etc...

Kiss the Senate goodbye Patrick. Another Kennedy implodes. Why would he implode? His father Ted (the swimmer) Kennedy kills a Mary Jo Kepechne (spelling?) because of his willful & malicious neglect to leave her in a partially submerged car while he runs for his life and to build an alibi. That murderous oversight and at least what should have been a manslaughter conviction, resulted in fat Teddy being rewarded for the next 35 years in the Senate where he still parks his fat carcass today.
In fact if anything, Patrick Kennedy has probably enhanced his Senate potential in the liberal, left-wing Northeast that will rally around it's favorite corrupt Kennedy family. The voters in the Northeast are not only stupid, they're in denial as well.
In fact there is rarely a DemonRAT DimWit of any stature that has to face the consequences of his or her actions and pay for it afterwards. Between the fawning, compliant left-wing drive by media and the even more stupid voters who keep voting & re-electing these lawbreakers, they just keep their titles, offices & perks. Being run out of office generally is reserved only for Republicans and especially conservative Republicans.

"Not that I am excusing Rush. To tell the truth, I have never felt the same way about him since he admitted his addiction."
You can excuse Rush, and yo should feel the same about him as you always have.
Rush was dependent, not addicted. There is a huge difference. The media hype, and lies about Rush's situation have worked. He has lost some audience due to their "reporting" of the story.
Rush obtained legitimate prescriptions from licensed doctors. At one time he had 2 prescriptions for pain medication from two doctors who worked in the same clinic. It is virtually impossible that one doctor didn't know what the other was doing.
The 2000 pills the media says Rush obtained during a 6 month period included antibiotics, and medication for the hearing implant. They also included the pain medication Hydrocodone. The weakest narcotic pain medication prescribed. You can purchase stronger stuff over the counter in Canada, and Mexico. When I began having the problems I have, I was prescribed 12 of these pills a day. To keep from having to take 12 pills a day my doctor switched my prescription over to Oxycontin, as did Rush's. This medication works by releasing the same medication, oxycodone, into the blood steam slowly over time. This medication gave me a life again. Instead of lapsing back into debilitating pain every 3 hours, I can now go 6 - 8 hours between doses. The same thing happened to Rush. There is no question that I am dependent on this medication. However it is much more like the dependency of a diabetic on insulin, than a junkie on heroin.
From my understanding Rush never took any medication that wasn't prescribed by a doctor. Whether you choose to believe his housekeeper, and her boyfriend, both convicted felons who tried to blackmail Rush before they went to the National Enquirer, that Rush tried to buy more of the Oxycontin from them, well that's a decision you have to make. Let's just say I give Rush the benefit of the doubt on that one.
I didn't respond to your post to beat up on you for your feelings about Rush. I just thought you should hear the truth. Not only does the media hate Rush, they also have an agenda about Oxycontin. There have been instances of stupid jacka$$es stealing or buying this drug illegally. They have misused, and abused the drug, and because this medication is very powerful, it has killed a few. Now there is a group of people, mostly parents of kids who have abused the drug, trying to have it removed from the market. Not caring about the millions it has helped safely, me included. They have DEA, and prosecutors giving legitimate doctors anal exams, and sometimes preventing those of use who legitimately use the medication from obtaining it. Keep that in mind the next time you hear a news story about Oxycontin. Know that without that wonderful medication, I would be almost completely disabled, and unable to perform tasks most people take for granted.

"...Kiss the Senate goodbye Patrick. Another Kennedy implodes..."
I beg to differ with you on this. His old man KILLED a woman in 1969 and is STILL in the US Senate. Ole Pat will probably be kicking it as long as Swimmer has unless, by some miracle, term limits becomes law. Fat chance on that happening.

Patches will get out of rehab, again, and drink and drive again. The cops will do what they can to cover it up, and the press will pronounce him a victim even if he kills someone.

"I'm confused by the quote...How does he know if he asked for any special treatment or not?"Good question..His story is falling apart isn't it?Too bad nothing will come of this.Anyone else would have gotten a field sobriety test,a trip to the police station, and then a breath test and urine or blood sample.

If you were a reporter and asked your boss that question at the NYTimes,WashPost,LaTimes,NBC,ABC,CBS,MSNBC,CNN etc they would fire your sorry ass.
Who are you to question the word of the Great God Kennedy?

Its a family trait. They all get away with so much they feel its their god given right.

Kennedy, 38, said yesterday that he has been battling problems with addiction and depression since he was a young man and that he will seek immediate treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. 'nuff said...

The Kennedy family hasn't suffered nearly enough, to offset the suffering and damage they have inflicted on the American people.
Starting with Old Joe's father -- PJ Kennedy, who used political office in Massoftwoshits in 1885 to enrich himself --- then Old Joe with his stock market and bootlegging activity working forward -- with very few exceptions....
