The al-Qaeda terrorist network sent 12 of its militants to Denmark in order to assasinate those who drew the cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed, according to Hamid Mir, the journalist who interviewed Osama bin Laden shortly after the September 11 terrorist attacks. According to an interview with the website of satellite television network al-Arabiya, Mir was brought to Waziristan, Pakistan's tribal area, in a zone believed to be run by the Taliban leader Abdullah Mahsud, where he met with some representatives of the Taliban.
These sources told Mir that 12 members of al-Qaeda left Afghanistan and entered Iran with the intention of traveling to Denmark in order to kill the cartoonists that have drawn the Prophet Mohammed. Islam explicitly prohibits any depiction of the Prophet. The cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed were first published in a Danish daily in September and then republished in other newspapers around the world. The caricatures sparked violent protests around the Muslim world in which at least 50 people died.
The decision to send the militants is believed to have been taken after Osama bin Laden launched an appearl after his last message aired last week, in which he asked for the cartoonists to be tried in the hands of al-Qaeda.
A similar request was also made by Ayman al-Zawahiri in his recently released message.
The same sources also assured him that 12 members of al-Qaeda, 9 Afghans and 3 Pakistanis, entered Iran two days ago to travel to a third country and then onto Denmark in order to kill the cartoonists that were responsible for the caricutures that were published by best-selling Danish daily Jyllands-Posten.
"Some of them have Iranian passports and others have Afghan passports," said Mir. "I have been informed that some of them speak English very well and have completed training in the area of Zabul which is near Kandahar which was controlled by the Taliban," he said. "They are new al-Qaeda members who have also released a video in which they explain their mission," he said.
Al Qaeda is reduced to targeting cartoonists? :)
Like, never...? ;-)
Nope. They would have always been the target. And musicians, actors, gays, christians, jews, educated women and women who have a problem being treated as important as the family pet, and infidels.
Bin Laden talked more about the "Infidel West" than he ever did about American Foreign Policy.
Michael Moore, Al Franken, Barbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Antonio Villaraigosa, Tony Valdez, Jesse Jackson, NARAL, the entire ACLU, and the entire membership of the People for the American Way.
These people are sick. Cartoons in a rinky dink newspaper none of them have ever read, in a country half of them probably have never heard of trigger deadly riots, death threats, the recall of ambassadors, and boycotts of an entire nation. In some ways though I think this was a good episode. It helped to wake up some who had their head in the sand. Even some libs I know that i'd thought were beyond hope came around some after this whole thing.
Crap, if we can get them to go afterMSM editors we may have something
Does this Hamid Mir guy have any credibility? He keeps coming up with very interesting stories.
If they ever go after them, watch that liberal bias go up in flames.
I pity Muslims. Their religion cannot weather criticism of any kind, even a few foreigners drawing stupid cartoons.
And just for reference, that's a pigskin-lined hat.
Bunch of #$%$$%#$! as*lifting vermin!
I love the smell of Tipping Points in the morning.
I believe the correct response to Islamofascists is to tell the terrorists that you'll kill their families. If I'm wrong, correct me.
While I'm of the mind to think this is a bogus report...lets entertain the scenario of this occuring. Cartoonist number one is killed in his home...which practically never happens in Denmark...lowest number of murders a year amongst the general population in Europe. The cops are onto this on day two...and every single Muslim-looking guy is rounded up in Denmark over the next five days. They actually catch 1 or 2 of the Iranians in this process. Fear sweeps across Denmark...killers on the loose. The EU suggest a significant VISA check for Iranians before allowing them into the EU. Iran offers a oil cut for all of the EU if they carry that forward.
You can see lots of implications here. The Danes are not going to just sit there and let things slide.
I would suggest that the proper response is to actually do it, along with killing the a**hat terrorists themselves.
And while we're at it, we can bury their bodies wrapped in gutted pig carcasses.
