SEATTLE - Just about everyone who e-mailed me agreed with my point that the U.S. border has to be tightened up.
But then, just about everyone disagree with my other point: That the undocumented workers in our country should be given an opportunity to stay here and become citizens. (See earlier commentary here.)
Some folks offered a reasoned point of view, while others - like Elton Roy Hyland, Sr. - were anything but reasoned.
"We wouldn't need a...border guard if we...eliminate the prize. The prize is the ultra liberal pukes out there saying 'Come to America any way you can...' "
Bonnie Flynn writes: "I don't feel sorry for the illegals. They chose to come here (and break the law so) they have no right to demand anything."
Lou Atcheson: "Hey dipstick. You just don't get it...They broke the law when they came to this country. They are criminals and should be treated as such..."
Kim Biggers: "I work two jobs to support my family and pay my bills...(and) I'm tired of hearing about how sad it is for the illegal immigrants...They need to go home."
Brandon Leeberg: "You're a traitor, Ken...(people) should be given the power to form posses, round up (the illegal immigrants) and send them back...They have no right to be here...Leave America to the Americans who were born here.
Well, I guess that means all us non-Indians better start packing.

Leave America to the Americans who were born here.

God what an intellectually lazy retort that is and childish to boot.
Deal, you go first Ken.
I dunno. The Indians migrated here, too. Depending on which theory you subscribe to, they either came over on the Bering land bridge or via short sea hops around the Pacific rim.
The whole "we were here first" argument is a red herring. It's not about land ownership, it's about society, culture, politics, crime, national identity, etc. Americans don't want our country turned into a third-world. We don't want the corruption, poverty, disease, language, etc. associated with third world countries like Mexico. Americans are more than willing to assimilate Mexico into our culture, and we have to a great deal. I personally love Mexican food, but I can do without the Tuberculosis.
Well Ken,
I haven't read any of your other stuff so I don't know if you're half right, half wrong or a half wit. I also don't know if you speak too fast or too slow but you do seem to speak half fast.
What? Only Indians were born here? I wasn't born here? My birth certificate says that I was born here. Stevens hospital, Seattle. This clown needs to put down the crack pipe.
Ummmm.... dipstick...
The indians did not have visa requirements or procedures in place that were violated; they were too busy killing each other to even take the time to create a written language, prior to 1550.
And then there is another, more meaningful parallel: When the indians objected, the invaders fought back and won. Now we have a written language among other things.
Extrapolating the current invader's capabilities, other than crime and corruption, what great promise are they displaying that might be a similar improvement for the state of the country?
Assuming they win?

Ken is *still* clueless. All us 'non-indians' have been here for our entire lives. Going back many generations. Is his point anyone against illegal immigration is against American immigration and its history?!?
This is not about being against immigrants period, its about being against lawbreakers.
That he cant grasp the distinction shows his cluelessness.
Ken Schram is a pock-faced knee-jerk Liberal who consistently comes out on the wrong side of every issue. Anyplace else he would never get the time of day on any media, but in Liberal Seattle, he's right at home. Conservatives know to avoid him at all costs lest their blood pressure go out of control. Schram is also so full of himself he's pathetic.
Ken is an arrogant jerk. Have never listened to the program with him and John Carlson. Most likely never will unless it comes across the dial accidentally. He reads his emails and STILL doesn't understand...and the crack about the indians -what sophistry.
You Say It Girl ...:*)
