There's Something Out There!





My Humans sometimes think I'm a Scaredy Cat
I'm not scared of much, it's just that
I can hear Thunder long before it comes along this way

The sound echoes deep and long and unnaturally dark
I can feel it make my hair stand straight up and spark
So I look for someplace safe and cozy right away!

The safest place I know is My Humans' bed
I slide in deep, with layers of sheets and blankets above my head
I can slither or curl up without making a sound

As the storm comes close, I know I won't be found
Listening to rain hiss through the trees and rattle down
Lapping down the roof and gutters to splash upon the ground

It seems to go on Forever, Nature's Hissy~Fit
The rain sound soothing, but I don't like Thunder one little bit!
Up close, it's loud and most frightening sound

A loud clap of an explosion that can make be bound
Up under the covers, only to be pushed back down
So, I'll just to wait until the storm moves out of town!
