I have my doubts about this theory, but if true it shows not only unprofessionalism in the CIA but also a lack of instincts for self-preservation. Sure we now know United flight 93 was intended to hit the Capitol, but it just as easily could have been headed to Langley. If I were in the CIA, I'd be worried about finding and killing Al Qaeda before they kill me.
Maybe instead of last minute pardons, before he leaves office Bush can have a last minute massacre -- fire everyone in the administrative branch suspected of unamerican activity. Won't happen, but I can dream.
The treasonous left calls the Republicans the "pugs." I would call them that too, as a compliment, meaning "pugnacious" if they would just bloody well fight for something.
Yes. Thank you, Porter Goss.
Cnn trying to connect Goss with Cunningham via Foggo?
It's never too late.
And .. if Porter couldn't get the job done .. I expect the next guy will be even a worse hardnose. The dems need to be careful what they wish for.
Porter may have just been there to draw these people out by shaking the tree a little .. time will tell.
what you said...bttt
In this instance, it is accurate to state:
BUSH`S FAULT !
The President should have cleaned out the FBI/CIA/State
Dept. in his first year !!!
Bush blew it.
Too little to late.
The statement in my post "this tells me..." shows I was speculating. We were all speculating at that point - except for, possibly, you who seem to allude to inside info. Please show us that your self-admiration is not misplaced by sharing your "facts/details" with us, the unwashed.
I am listening to Frank Gaffney on Hugh Hewitt as I am writing you. He evidently thinks that Goss was promised access and latitude that was severely compromised by Negroponte's appointment and the imposition of another layer of bureaucracy between the DCI and the President.
I'd be interested in your reaction to that line of thinking.
I too am saddened to see Mr. Goss leaving. There is a butt..
If the Clintons did the housecleaning, then by God, Bush needed to do the same--all of it, pack it on heavy, every nook and crannie and let the media have their weeks and months of scrambling stories. Think: if all discharges happened very quickly media would know which story to pursue first.
Since Bush hasn't done this but placed Arlen Spector, tried for Harriet Myers, is weak on immigration, spent more money than any government, and turned over ports to Dubai, then to Hutchison Whampoa you have to wonder about the "political capitol" he is spending and who is getting knifed.
From your lips to God's ears.
McGovern is a CABALIST!
I hope it's something as simple as him running for Senate from FL. I tend not to believe, but at least I can hope!
I should have read a bit further before replying to 15.
I hope you're right.
How about Tom Delay?
Hmmm?
"When we change Presidents, it is customary for most top officials in these agencies to tender resigntations to make reorganization move more smoothly. Before Clinton, most were not accepted and the person remained in place. Clinton accepted them all... prosecutors, administrators, everyone. Then he filled the organizations with hand picked liberals. With his "new tone," President Bush did not accept many at all."
A) When will we ever learn? Liberals play for keeps and do *EVERYTHING* to gain, hold and maintain power and nothing is beneath their 'end-justifies-means' approach.
B) I doubt the liberals offered their resignations. Look at Frances Berry, the clod on the civil rights commision who stayed or tried to stay after her term was up, trying to force Bush administration to simply accept her running the commission long after Bush had a replacement! ... they had to pry her out of that position with a crowbar.
C) If the CIA needed house cleaning, and Goss was the man to do it, and Bush wanted it done, it should have been done by now. I'm with those who consider this excuse-making. It's year 5 of the Bush administration. Play hardball and get the treasonous vipers out of there. Period.
