Here's the question that must be asked. If Kennedy had actually hit the Capitol Hill policeman or run over a pedestrian would he be getting of scot free just because he announced that he's going to rehab? So why is he getting of scot free for violating the DUI law in the first place? He still needs his day in court to stand before a judge and receive the appropriate sentence for DUI. Yes, so does Rush. Justice is not served when these deals are made. Injustice is served when the rich and powerful can make deals and the common man is left to hang for his offenses.

When did Rush get busted for driving under the influence???? Where was the wreck?
Kennedy was caught driving, we know that for sure.

Mark Furhman on Fox last night was slamming the cops, holding them accountable for not following the law. Also said the days of 'driving a good guy home' were done because of insurance problems. If they got involved in another accident or something where the cops were required to do whatever, and Kennedy or 'the good guy' got hurt, or even someone else simply because Kennedy was in the car, lawsuits would fly like snow.

Day in court is one thing. What makes you so sure that Rush would have been convicted by a jury?

It appears that the prosecutors were unwilling to try to convince those jurors.

"Yes, so does Rush."

Have you read what Rush is accused of doing, or are you just generalizing. Rush was never accused of DUI.
Most if not all of Rush's pain meds were prescribed by 2 doctors in the same building, and most were Hydrocodone, not the "evil" Oxycontin the media led us to believe.
As a suffer of debilitating pain that requires me to take Oxycontin, I'll tell you, without hesitation, Rush committed NO crime. The Hydrocodone he is accused of taking the most is one step above Tylenol, and at one time I was prescribed 12 per day of the most powerful dosage.
Part of the "2000" pills Rush is said to have taken during that 6 month period was his antibiotics, and medicine having to do with his hearing surgery (not pain meds.)
Rush did become dependent on the pain medication, but his situation is nothing like this guy.
Kennedy drove drunk, and is trying to cover it up with a pain medication excuse. I'm surprised he didn't say cold medicine.
