CNN reports Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) will hold a press conference today at 3 p.m. in Washington, D.C. to discuss his recent traffic incident on Capitol Hill.
Well As Someone who lives in his district, this is truly the last straw for me. I am currently a freshman in College but while I was a Junior in High School I met him in Washington, DC through a school program. It was 11 AM and he was already disheveled in appearance and seemed to be out of it and I am not exaggerating this one bit. The group that I was with all commented on his strange behavior afterwards so this turn of events is not a great surprise to me.
No....he was doing the standard way that dems deflect attention from one of their own...which is to throw out any bad deed done by Bush and his family...
I just had to turn it off when Laura's accident was brought up as speculation that she had been drinking, otherwise why would she run over him...blah, blah,
I know how you feel. A neighbor is bi-polar and had a major manic episode last summer. She is the nicest, sweetest person and has one of the best hearts.
It pained me to see and hear snide remarks from neighbors. "She's crazy." My son and her son are friends. I told my son it is no different than any other medical condition and if anyone said anything to him, all he had to say was "She's been good to me."
Her family went through hell and back, she is better now. I know a bit of what you are going through. Best of luck.
My mother had it badly, forever. I have never had it! But have all these other new allergies and the only thing that has worked for me is the Benadryl Sinus - none of the Claritin or those others. And I bought it by accident the first time and took it anyway - thank goodness, I did.
Of course, now I have to sign for it because it has pseudoephedrine in it! They only sell the non-PE one in small amounts, so it costs more - or I wouldn't have to sign in. When they get the non-PE in 48's (quantity), I won't have to do that anymore.
That was an outstanding post you've made! I know an accountant (CPA) who graduated tops in his class and then went on to get a Masters degree. He is an excellent shot with a pistol, can benchpress 275 lbs, and runs as fast as a gazelle.
His application to become a FBI agent was rejected because the vision in his left eye wasn't sufficient if he wasn't wearing corrective contact lenses or glasses.
Meanwhile, a guy who would otherwise be a skid row bum if his last name wasn't Kennedy represents the state of Rhode Island in Congress! The state of this country is unreal.

Exactly. A point I made earlier today on another thread. And here she would have good reason to complain. Her fixer isn't as good as Uncle Teddy.
We also have a neighbor who is bi-polar. When a person with this condition regularly takes their medication all is well. Unfortunately though, this particular neighbor doesn't. Very sad.
I have never heard this before - and I *should* have. I thought 4:20 was supposed to be 4/20, because of the Columbine massacre. Like 4/19 for Waco and OKC.
Look, I understand your empathy, but what you are basically saying is that those with serious mental or emotional problems can/should be elected to responsible public positions, simply because there are millions of people who suffer from the same maladies.
These people may be treatable, but what if they -- as Kennedy is admitting -- abuse their meds, and make themselves more of a public danger?
Personal responsibility would dictate that someone with Kennedy's track record not only admit their problems, but step down from the stress of public life, for their own good and for the good of the people they represent.
Thank you for undertanding. You seem to be one of the very few here that do. We are a military family and it is even more diffult when we have to move around so much, the changing of doctors, locations, making new friends, schools etc. Atleast I know I can go to our military family for support and understanding. That's more than I can say from what I have seen here today.
I think it is probably quite common for anxious people to have trouble sleeping. Sleep problems was one of the reasons for getting my son on anti-anxiety meds. We probably would have been better off with ambien.
I have had a Dr recommend a dose of benedryl as a short term sleep aid (for me, not my son). It didn't work well for me.
He can't help it if he's bipolar. But there are certainly numerous questions. If he's mentally unstable, why does he hold a seat in congress? Why does he WANT to hold a seat in congress, other than personal gratification?
If he crashes cars left and right, why is he driving? I'm sure his family could hire a driver for him, for his own safety and that of others.
I believe so. She seems very unhappy with herself and her life..
it was mentioned on the Rush thread

Which came first the booze or the drug? He's just another Kennedy Liberal POS!
Oh OK -- that's why I couldn't find it.
THANKS!

Does the Mayo Clinic even have a treatment facility? I thought it was all medical - and that a place like Hazelden would take the people needing rehab.
LOL! Best line I've read so far. :)
