judge and receive the appropriate sentence for DUI. Yes, so does Rush.

When did Rush get busted for driving under the influence???? Where was the wreck?
Kennedy was caught driving, we know that for sure.

Very convenient that the officers' superiors were called in and no sobriety test was given. I suspect the waitress will soon be driving a brand new very expensive car and she'll have the same memory loss of the night taken for a ride across a bridge.

He has to be on anti-depressants to treat the bi-polar disorder and his depression. Just because he didn't mention it doesn't mean he doesn't take them. He would be totally out of control and not be able to function IF he didn't take those.

Oh..yeah....I want to see Chrissy Matthews spend his whole HOUR on this tonight...like he would if it was a Rep...

BUT, I bet, instead-- he will have a bunch of ex-CIA guys to come in and talk about Porter Goss..and Negroponte..

Anxious to see how Chrissy will blame Bush for Porter Goss quitting, or Kennedy's drug habit...

I think he was blasted.

And Shep has been making me sick since Katrina; he's a MAJOR suckup and so ill-informed that it's frightening.

BTW, look for the Dems to start quietly trashing the Capitol Police.

The Capitol Police have had their (jewels) in a vise since the State of the Union t-shirt incidents. The pressure is bipartisan, remember Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla.) who was nasty and condescending to the police for removing his wife over her shirt. He treated them like children rather than as men and women who would (and have) take a bullet to protect Congress.

Chief Gainer was forced out after that. It's also been noted that many former military officers have joined the Capitol Police since September 11th and they have a mindset of actually securing Capitol Hill and Congress rather than acting as sycophants. Hence incidents like McKinney's and Kennedy's that once would have been hushed up as normal business on the Hill now see the light of day as a professional police force asserts itself.

I bet Chris Matthews could tell some tales from his days as a Capitol Police officer decades ago.

All that being said, it is the 'Rats MO to trash law enforcement when they get in a jam, so I join you in that expectation.

He shouldn't be making laws for the little people if he's psychologically impaired. He needs a stress free life of privilege. Oh wait. He needs to quit his job and check into a long term medical care facility.

Headline on Drudge says Kennedy says he has no recollection of events that night, but that in previous statements he had detailed memory.

"The bar might not want the tab out there implying the over served a drunk."

Who's going to sue? DC for the cost of replacing the reflective tape and buffing out the scratches on the concrete wall?

Mark Furhman on Fox last night was slamming the cops, holding them accountable for not following the law. Also said the days of 'driving a good guy home' were done because of insurance problems. If they got involved in another accident or something where the cops were required to do whatever, and Kennedy or 'the good guy' got hurt, or even someone else simply because Kennedy was in the car, lawsuits would fly like snow.

Not DUI. Rush should have had to face his day in court and not been able to cop a deal.

Was waiting for this shoe to drop when he admitted to driving under the influence of medication. (Less stigma than booze. Especially since he claims he already addressed that one.)

The re-hab anouncement is always used as cover and will allow them to squash the inquiry into the preferential treatment he received, as well as the fact that he was, no doubt, out boozing it up prior to the accident.

He'll do a two-week stint in re-hab and be back at the bar before you can say "Chappaquiddick".

At least he didn't try to swim across the Potomac.

He was looking for a bridge, but those damn barriers got in the way.

By the way, there was no mention of a young female passenger.
