CNN reports Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) will hold a press conference today at 3 p.m. in Washington, D.C. to discuss his recent traffic incident on Capitol Hill.

And with Kennedy's history of addiction probs, why would a doc prescribe something his patient could become addicted to? I know recovering addicts who go out of their way to avoid taking anything that could become habit forming.

I wonder what Kennedy's addicted to? What doc/s prescribed it? And if there was no scrip, where Kennedy was getting it?

If you understood Bi-polar disorder then you would believe he has had a difficult life, along with the depression he fights everyday of his life. Drug Addiction is very common in people whom suffer from Bi-polar disorder. Those of us who have family members understand Patrick's battle. My 16 yr old daughter suffers from OCD, general anexity disorder, depression and school phobia. I completely understate his battle. He doesn't need tearing down, he could use some empathy. I'm not a Kennedy fan, but I do understand this type of mental illness.

Kennedy isn't claiming to be on antidepressants. He said medication for PAIN - pain killers.

Nice comparison by Shep of two guys with problems, except for the fact that Rush was never busted for being DUI, didn't crash any cars, is not a drunk, and doesn't have a rap sheet of habitual drunk or disorderly behavior.

One thing that struck me as odd...when he was making his statement was that he referred to the "incident" as happening on Wednesday night..a couple of times..

I guess it was too close for comfort to refer to it happening "early on Thursday"...

I am probably picking nits....but, his whole "confession" sounded fake, contrived, and CYA, all the way.
