Robert Davi is a very responsible citizen as well as a fine actor. I think this idea is a serious one and should receive some attention. If I can fault the President for anything it is not having the right people around him who would run with an idea such as this.

This plan amounts to the same idea as the MinuteMen on the Souhtern Border. I just love Robert Davi as an actor, but I think he is wasting his time with the gov't entities. Mr. Davi needs to make his plan work with the people. It will succeed, because it is increasingly clear(rightfully so) that average Americans no longer rely on gov't intervention.
That is the first step back to our roots.

From his
Wikipedia entry.
In 2005 he recorded a radio spot in support of California Proposition 73, the pro-life proposition that would have required that a physician notify in writing a parent or guardian at least 48 hours before performing an abortion on a minor girl.

Robert Davi is an excellent actor, and a conservative who has been one of the bave few outspoken conservatives in Hollywood. I think at one time he was co-chair of the Wednesday Morning CLub, a conservative group of Hollywood types. Robert Duvall was co-chair as well.
The idea sounds good to me. There are plenty of ex-military/law enforcement who would be ideal. I like the idea of this that is a citizen's group. We need more actors like him and less Tim Robbins in the world.

"bave" should be "brave". Sorry my fingers work faster than my brain. (Well there a lot of things that work faster than my brain. My mouth more often than not, being one).

The powers that be, by which I mean the career bureaucrats who really run the Executive Branch, do not want volunteer amateurs helping them, they want bigger empires.
If amateurs can do their jobs, then why must taxpayers fork out so much for their professional services?
The forces of order prefer crime, invasion, and terrorism to vigilantism.
The solution to many of our problems lie outside of government.

I work in Northern Virginia and went to a resturant in Centerville called Sweetwater Tavern. There was Robert Duvall! Apparently he goes there quite a lot. He is much thinner than I expected - must be all that salsa dancing. He is said to keep a horse farm in the area also.

Robert Davi needs to hook up with The Minutemen.

I've always thought he was a great actor. I thought he should be more famous than he is. Now I know why. Too Conservative for Hollywood?

You are right of course. Ordinary citizens and volunteers spontaneously participating in a Grass Root movement is the only way to turn things around for the good. Robert Davi's idea has already been implemented without the US Govenment. That is the way it should be. You can not blame him however for wanting to get the government involved since they have the resources (thanks to our tax dollars).

I agree; he's an intriguing cross between Michael Madsen and Don Gordon.

The difficulties of typecasting is more likely. Even our some of most outstanding actors can have a hard time with the "character" actor label.

It sounds just like our County Sheriff's Posse - a group of unpaid volunteers willing to undergo background checks and training so we can help the Sheriff accomplish his mission. The only volunteers I know of who work with the Feds is a group called the Coast Guard Auxiliary, but if the Feds allow those volunteers to help then the precedent is set.
Here's a 2004 interview with him on Front Page Magazine. He sounds like a genius.
